No-Longer-Prince Andrew

Henry IV declared himself king, sent the actual king (Richard II) to prison, and very likely had him starved to death. And I'm not sure Richard even committed any crimes to warrant any of that!

Maybe I have watched too much Law & Order but couldn’t the police use these charges to pressure Andrew to “spill the beans” on the other allegations involving crimes against women and girls or serve serious prison time?
Maybe, but maybe not. It would likely depend at least in part on whether English courts would have any jurisdiction over anything and the people implicated could be brought to justice there. Also, there aren't many bigger fish to fry than the King's brother.

The President of the United States of America is a pretty big fish, along with various heads of states and captains of industry and people with vast amounts of power and influence.

I'm not so sure Andrew would be of much use in any case. Even if he witnessed actual sexual acts, it's his (desperate) word against whoever. Otherwise he'd just be naming the same names that are already circulating.

Andrew strikes me as just plain stupid anyway. Easily manipulated as long as he's kept happy with his fantasy playboy lifestyle. Apparently oblivious to his wrongdoings, and naive to the point of leaving a paper trail of emails and allowing himself to be photographed multiple times, hardly the behaviour of either a prince or a spy. IMO he's pathetic, and his silly ex-wife isn't much better.

OK something just occurred to me, might be discussed elsewhere but anyway - apparently the police are searching his various residences and will be looking for evidence that might include hard copies and computer files. Which means ...

This might be the first case of finding the other side of all those Epstein emails, and more. And video files, and pictures, because creeps love to keep that sort of thing.

Such evidence could nail him for all kinds of crimes in the UK, and if shared with authorities in other countries, finally have a serious impact on other people involved. Here's hoping.

That would be great if the docs found during these searches could be used in any future cases involving young girls and the Epstein files!

I understand these charges are wrt him using his position of trust in the UK government to send confidential information to Epstein for his own benefit at the betrayal of all UK citizens.

WRT bigger fish to fry, I think if someone ever actually did investigate/charge people named in the Epstein files as having had abused young girls, there would be a lot of whales in that fish pond along with Randy Andy (ok, not to get technical, I know a whale is a mammal and not a fish but just trying to make a comparative point :cold: ).

I agree with the poster who described Andy as stupid and his silly ex wife is the same! He invited Epstein et al to his daughter's 18th BDay and she escorted her daughters to Epstein's island for "lunch." I wonder what was on that menu.

I wonder what parents of the other girls attending that BDay party would think now?

And can they be prosecuted in an English court, which I noted was why the police and prosecutors might not be able to get Andrew to cooperate? Certainly not Trump, unless they want to start World War III. I might be wrong, but I don’t think that they do.

The challenge is not getting Andrew to divulge information, or finding information to implicate others through him, it’s getting other countries justice systems to act on any information found in a meaningful way. There is enough information to implicate Trump (and many others) in so many crimes, Epstein related and otherwise, and yet….

Maybe the accusations of Andrew and Fergie being such packrats is going to come back to haunt them. I understand the next big step in progressing with charges against him is to go through his paper work (apparently boxes and boxes of files have been taken from his residences) to back up the emails, etc. recovered from the Epstein files. Should it proceed to trial, he will be tried in His Majesty's court, his brother, really unprecedented. If that is what happens it certainly is a resounding example that no one is above the law - or at least - should be above the law.

I heard on the news Andrew is under house arrest.........at least he has a great place to be under house arrest!

The book I just read about Andrew and Fergie (Entitled) said that Royal Lodge, where the two of them lived for 22 years, was in terrible shape in the last while. Mostly because they were both such extravagant spenders, when they had money, that they didn't put anything into maintenance - or they expected that it would be done for them, because of their "status".

So even if he's in a decent house now, it might not stay that way if he treats it the same as he's treated his other residences.

I read that William is considering ousting Beatrice & Eugenia from the family. Sins of the father..... William comes off (to me) to be a petty & jealous person. It's like he can't stand for any other family member to get more attention than he &/or Kate. Their family is so small now that they could use the cousins for appearances whenever they are in the UK. But no...... If William is that strait-laced he needs to look at his own father who publically committed adultery for years & had a somewhat checked past in other ways.

I don’t think they would get any appearances anyway after their mother’s emails in the Epstein files. The girls (as young adults) were used to show Epstein associates around the palaces, and apparently Beatrice and her mother wanted to help redeem Epstein’s reputation after his first stint in jail. Obviously we don’t know if that last bit truly happened; we only have Fergie’s email saying it did. But I think as more of these emails are drip fed out in the press there will be less acceptance and goodwill towards the princesses in the public’s eyes, whether that is fair or not.
