Nebelhorn Trophy - Women's SP & FS

Oh, Jia... She's taken up Livia Kaiser's modern bride look this season.

Jia's not winning today. Already two jumping passes with her hands down on the landings, and now a third one with issues on the landing as well.

Jia Shin
blink plus extra ruffles, yes, Korea is skating
oh Liebestraum
2a
3l
3sal short and both hands down
3f2t2l
interesting that she seems to save 3-3 and lutz for the second half and the bonus, gutsy
3z3toe < and hand down
3f 2a no flow, second foot down
3z nice
lots of tiny jump issues here and there, nothing major like a pop or a fall but it will add up
I am guessing on a Amber win just now

Well, Jia did just barely manage to hold on for a medal, so bully for her. Now, if only the FFSG would do the right thing and pull Mayindu's GPdF assignment & then toss it back in the pool so that Jia gets a 2nd GP.

There were a lot of signals today.

The Italian ladies are to be reckoned with: Lara’s score is first-tier. The Canadian girls like Sara-Maude, Kaiya and Katherine are not giving it away to Schizas. Depending on how Haein Lee does, my girl Chaeyeon might be in deep trouble for Milan. :( Mone’s a lock barring injury, the Japanese girls I like best, Hana for her quirkiness and Rino for her skating skills, are far behind.

And the Americans are going to be :watch: all the way through.

Wow Amber…. Probably one of the most gorgeous dresses I have ever seen. Great hair and make up.

These are the best I’ve ever seen her jumps and they were done with such great quality. But then a fall on the last one.

All the jumps look really really good. What a beautiful spiral hold.

Fantastic, what a great start to the season, so thrilled.

🥳🥳🥳🥳

It is funny that most people (including me!) think of Mone as a young girl and pretty princess. Mone turned 20 years old on May 1, 2025.

Going in search of videos!

Really enjoyed both Amber and Mone. Amber’s power makes her skating so alive and while Jia, Mone, and Isabeau all have that pretty girl style, I found Mone’s version of it the most dynamic.

I do wish Amber’s free music had as much personality as her short, but her power is always enough makes her skating interesting to me.

The doubled loop isn’t the problem for Levito, although a triple would’ve put her ahead of Shin overall.

The big problem is the 3F+3T< call in both the short and the long. She has really struggled to get that combo around for the past two seasons, and this call is becoming almost habitual.

On the plus side, she looks very well trained, has good programs, and is deservedly beating Glenn on PCS.

Today she really struggled. On the lutz she was pitched forward and against the boards. She was lucky not to fall on the 3T. The good news is there are lots of places where she could add a bit more score. And, she`s defintely motivated.

Goldenskate has a closeup of Isabeau's dress. I could see nothing of all that detail when I was watching on my tiny phone screen!

Ooof where is Tim Gunn when you need him.

So much going on. I prefer a dress or a costume with absolutely no bling at all. I think, without bling is more sophisticated.

Look up the word “ungapatchka”

:D

On my notebook screen the dress didn`t look so "ungapatchka"; the detail made an overall effect. I had a reaction that no one`s spoken of here - the expense of it. I could see the judges being put off by this. "Levito with unlimited money to win against those from Armenia, Greece skating in off-the-rack"

Mone’s and Jia’s dresses weren’t cheap. I think that’s just a rich-country thing.

Hi, there, so, have you checked out the Korean women every season? Or pretty much any of the women who are going to be at the Olympics (no Greek or Armenian women there, btw). None of them are showing up in off-the-rack.

I think the detail in Isabeau’s dress is beautiful. It doesn’t look overdone to me and it’s going to go over extremely well with casual fans who love an ice princess. This is an Olympic dress.

My only quibble is why the waist cut outs. Is the intention to look like it’s two pieces? Because that’s what it’s giving. That’s the only thing I’d change. And maybe cut off some of the scraggly bits on the skirt. But otherwise, this is a great look for her.

On the flip side, I also really love the simplicity of Amber’s new dress. I’d actually ditch some of the bling on the back and go for a really elevated, sophisticated look. But it’s a great dress and sets her apart from the others.
