Ok everyone!!!! I had another great skate today...so here's my Report....I did a little Off-Ice in my Rinks Lobby, and another skater even showed me some Leg-Lifting warm-ups I could do to help my balance. (Basically lifting one leg at a time up to the side, and holding it). When I finally got on the Ice, I practiced some more with getting used to not holding onto the wall, and found myself getting a little bit better with my balance. I didn't make it Center Ice today, but it seemed at least that I was gaining confidence. I also practiced my marching while keeping my knees bent, and found myself putting on a little bit of speed. After he was done with another student, my coach Nick came over and worked a bit more with me on Ice-Dance moves...(and I don't know if any of you other guys learned this when you first learned to Ice-Dance). But right now he is teaching me some diagonal moves with hands and arms. As well as side by side back and fourth motions with my feet. With a count from 1-8. Which he says he'll eventually have me do to music of a beat of 1-8. He also had me try doing them together...and he saw that I caught-on really quickly!! So, that is my Report for today!!!

Sounds like a good skate! I absolutely agree with the idea of loosening up/warming up prior to getting on the ice. This way you can use your time on the ice more effectively, rather than waiting for your body to warm up after you've used 10 minutes of ice time (ice is pricey!). This may be more applicable to those of us more. . . seasoned (I'm in my 50s now) but is great at any age.
