Naomi Osaka didn't congratulate Vicky on her win.

She took out her frustration about the crowd on a lovely 18-year old who looked up to her and showed great poise, grace, and class all tournament. Victoria also said lovely things about her.Naomi Osaka didn't congratulate Vicky on her win.
I get that she was frustrated but how were Osaka and her team not expecting/prepared for a hometown crowd response for her opponent? Baffling. She took out her frustration about the crowd on a lovely 18-year old who looked up to her and showed great poise, grace, and class all tournament. Victoria also said lovely things about her.
As they say: "bye, girl".
Yes and congratulating your opponent is basic tennis etiquette that you learn real early in your tennis journey, like in the first tournaments you ever play.I get that she was frustrated but how were Osaka and her team not expecting/prepared for a hometown crowd response for her opponent? Baffling.
Victoria was AMAZING!

I’m not buying that either.Andy Roddick has a slightly different take. Not sure I agree with him. "Congratulations" is all she needed to say, and the lack of it shows a distinct lack of sportsmanship.
U.S. Open starts this weekend (qualifying rounds are already underway). Can't wait!
Let’s see how far djokovic gets in his valiant and heroic effort to get to 25
Medvedev has lost in the first round of the last 3 Grand Slams and was out in the second round in Australia. Hard to believe his ranking is still as high as 13. Mentally he's got to be shattered after a strong 2024 season.
Draper out of the men's draw due to injury, so his opponent gets a walkover to the third round. I wonder if @AngieNikodinovLove (ANL) had his voodoo doll out, as that's also Musetti's quarter of the draw?![]()
Say, is tennis anything like wrestling? Maybe I’ll have to start paying more attention.
A pretty dreadful day for the American men yesterday, with the exception of Fritz, who even his hands full with a really talented Swiss qualifier, Jerome Kym (whose service style is gorgeous).
Novak pulls out the win despite pulling a muscle in his back, but he gets this year's giant killer, Struff, next.
Carlos looking amazing with an "easy" win.
On the ladies side, Taylor Townsend played great against up and comer Mirra Andreeva, but she faces 2-time Slam winner Krejcikova next.
Coco has already advanced today, with her quickest win of the tourney so far.
I'm thinking things need to wrap up w/ the GOAT! Djokovic is breaking down physically! He's gotten old thinking "if I stretch enuf everyday, I"ll stay healthy enuf to compete against these kids!" I hoping he goes "down under" 1 more time to say "good-bye!" - https://fiero4251.blogspot.com/2016/08/fan-page-novak-nole-djokovic.html -![]()

All I have to say is:
FELIX!!!!![]()
His interview with ESPN commentators about 45 minutes after the match made me think he may pull the plug after this season or do an announcement that 2026 will be his final year. He basically admitted his body and mind are at odds with being able to keep up with the younger guys for 7 straight matches in Slams. Which is understandable considering only two years ago he won 3 out of 4 of the majors and was the runner up of the 4th.
Regardless, at 38 (?) it's impressive he's made the semis of every slam so far this year.
I kind of feel like if he could somehow pull off the 25th slam title, he'd pull a Sampras and say "Nope, not gonna get better than this; I'm outta here!"![]()
