Long Program Breakdown: Ladies Olympic Medalists 92-02

I am an engineer so of course I am loving all the numbers! Thank you!

Question - are you counting spins as choreography? If so, are you perhaps giving slow spinners too much credit for choreography?

For Ito's 1988 freeskate, I decided to make it a video of all the top 6 ladies at Calgary, which will take a little longer to do (but will hopefully be worth it). I don't think I've ever had the privilege of watching Claudia Leistner's freeskate, but man, that program is jam-packed.... with music cuts!

Nope, no spins. I also cut out footwork sequences and spiral sequences (although, spirals that are done outside of the spiral sequence are included).

Red Violin - Skate America version and Red Violin - Worlds version were widely different.
I watched her SA version of Red Violin and didn't think it was that much different than Worlds. TRV at Worlds, by the way, was perfection--Kwan's best ever from an all-around standpoint.

I actually love the nuances and little things she did at Skate America a lot better than Worlds. However, Worlds just had that speed and aggressiveness that was totally refreshing for her. It's just, the SA version, even if it wasn't wildly different, just had more little things sprinkled throughout that really hit the nuances of the music that Worlds didn't have and to me that made a difference in my enjoyment level. It was also the last time she got a 6.0 for presentation by an international panel for a routine with a straight-up fall in it. I think it was from the Austrian judge, but I don't remember. I also love looking at the scores from that SA because it was before the reemergence of Irina Slutskaya and there was certainly a real difference before and after haha.

At SA, her spins were much better timed to the music and she had footwork into the flip, sal and lutz; not to mention the layout looking more even / less frontloaded before the swap of loop vs axel.

Having said that, the speed and the Charlotte ending at Worlds was a nice touch.
