Yeah, Poor Things had one of my favorite soundtracks in the past few years but you really need to be an actress and a dancer to pull it off.

None of the FS programs I've seen to the soundtrack have done much for me - the movie's plot is probably too bizarre & dark to truly work for a competitive program.

While we are at it, give Alysa's program to Madison Chock. When I saw clips of Alysa walking through the choregraphy in practice I thought she was just doing that because it was practice but no that is her actual level of sass in the competition lol Program needs a lot of work.

This feels a lot like last year's FS in that there isn't a lot of choreo other than some armography and dance breaks during the step and choreo sequences. And it felt like any music could have been playing in the background. Hopefully when she works out her boot problems, she'll skate with more energy and character.

I also think her dress is not the most flattering. The style she had last year worked better.

After watching the blade work of the Japanese ladies, the shallowness of Alysa’s program kind of sticks out. I’m sure she’ll improve it over the course of the season but it didn’t work for me today.

I think the dress is good but there needs to be tilted shoulder moves to the beats/tempo for it to work to maximum effect. She is gliding around out there with zero tension.

I haven’t watched yet, but from what I’ve seen a The photos, the dress is not flattering, I also prefer last year short program dress than the one this year with all that shoulder detail or whatever it is.

I don’t mind a gaga free skate because we haven’t really seen that yet, but those would not be my two cuts. I go for even more upbeat, powerful tracks.

Well, this is what I'll say about Alysa's FS - she's clearly not in peak condition yet and is still feeling out the choreography & pacing for the program. I wasn't a fan of her Donna Summer program when she debuted it last year, but it grew on me as the season progressed and her stamina & pacing came back, so I'm withholding judgment until we see it again at Cup of China.

They reworked her program a lot of in composition/layout from its debut in the fall so I suggest you go look again. By worlds it was a much better second half. I was actually very surprised at how much it is changed for the better when I went to look at the video over the summer. Was it some grand masterpiece no definitely not but it was home worlds. Her short program last year I think was very good though.

I mean less about the layout and composition and more about her interpretation of the music. Just not the crispness, sass, attitude, flirtatiousness, drama everything that the music needed. If only Nicole Bobek could skate to pop music with lyrics back in her day.
