Alysa's music sounds like modern disney princess and that costume off the shoulders gives that vibe too. I thought she looked a little rushed because the tempo is faster than last year's SP and she is trying to keep up with it. Once she holds the positions more and relaxes it will be much better.

Pretty skating except for the combo, but I find the music really blah.
Also, no clue how skaters manage to deal with whackety whack moving around in their visual field. I'd dump the arm dangly bits.

3Z+3L in the second half seems like a trap. I admire her guts for trying that, but will surprised if that ends up being kept all season.

The program is fine, lovely skating and her movement is very nice. But it’s clearly Promise 2.0 and when skaters do this, they almost always would have been better off just repeating the 1.0.

This is superficial, but if she’s going to keep that dress with the scarf thing and the stuff on the neck line, her hair needs to be up in a bun. Or a higher ponytail. There is just too much stuff flapping around her neck and back right now. This is an aesthetic sport at the end of the day and this combination of hair and dress is hurting her line.
Afaik it's Alysa's first ever attempt at a 3L+3R and it's only her first event of the season. I think that she should keep it at least for her first couple of competitions. She might have also been a little off due to the fall just before her starting pose.

Agreed! It's interesting to note though that Alysa had taken quite the dramatic tumble and slide across the ice on her bottom just after her name was called as she was heading to center ice for her starting pose. Jackie posted the meme moment on his X account. I had been unaware of that it until then. That unplanned spill might have taken Alysa off of her game and timing just a smidge.

Alysa's slip. Honestly that was better than half of the skater's choreographic sequence. She should add it to the LP! lol

Going through the protocols they really hammered Alysa on the 3L-3R combo, but in hindsight, considering that she's having boot problems, it's amazing that she stayed on her feet! On the plus side, I think this is the first time that I've seen Alysa receive over 1+point GOE on her 2A! It's usually under a point.

For any one who missed the news about Alysa's boot problems it's on Instagram. Ilia's dad has been very kindly helping Alysa work through her boot issues!

She had that last year?
yes. And a couple of years before, minus the consistency.
Am not sure she had a 3T3T a couple of years ago (she did last year), so while competing with the girls who landed quad she was invisible

Nakai moves to first in line for GP alternate list, but it doesn't really matter because JPN is maxed out in all events. Just give her the host spot (back to back weeks CAN --> JPN, but oh well).

Never mind, she has 2 events already!

I like her a lot! I think the judges wouldn't mind scoring into medal contention at worlds or Olympics actually.
I don't see how Gutmann beats even remotely clean Japanese or Americans or Belgians. Imho the only Olympic medal she has a chance to get is the team one.

Yeah, the only skaters here on the GP Alternates list with 0 or 1 GPs are Seoyoung Kim, Ekaterina Kurakova & Linnea Ceder. Kim's the only one with the chance of improving her score & moving up the Alternates list.
