Okay, people - my pbp for the 2nd group is going to be limited since I'll be watching them on my phone while sitting in my car ready to head to work as soon as the last team leaves the ice, but I'm excited for the debut of MetBeru!

@Sylvia - Desrochers/Thrasher have done a couple of Canadian summer comps and Zheng/Deng did a NQS a couple weeks ago, so this is their international debuts, but not their team debuts.

I'm watching in Cordoba, Spain. I've been in Spain for (most of) the first 3 JGPs - will be back in Pacific time for the rest.

Steblyanka/Gneiding - nicely matched team - that death spiral was a bit of a mess and the less sad about their SBS spins, the better.

Moudden/Garcia - well, they aren't quite as scary or sketchy on the lift as they were last year on the JGP. Nice death spiral - good to end on a positive note!

Ehrhard/Pellegris - 3tw! Was not expecting that from this team! Yikes - big step out and two-foot on the throw 3lo. Very fast into somewhat messy SBS spins.

Wow, step sequence level 4, good for them.

Desrochers/Thrasher - beautiful 3tw! Wildly out-of-synch SBS 2As. Throw 2lo - hmmm... Nice step sequence. They are clearly going into the lead based on the TES.

Rougher outing for these two. Competing back to back weeks in pairs can be tough.

Lowenherzes - meh. Not much improvement since last season - and she needs to work on her flexibility in the lift - she was struggling to catch her blade. Bland Zorro.

Georgia - A salute to Margaritaville? Wild colorful costumes.

These two are obviously the favourites to win everything this season, but I just can’t root for Berulava after his attitude toward Karina.

Of all the “Summertime” programs over the years, this is easily the most aggressively divorced from the song’s entire cultural context.

Metelkina/Berulava - oh wow! That was fabulous! I like them together more than I liked either of them with their former partners! (Notwithstanding his shitty treatment of Karina, that is...)

These two are obviously the favourites to win everything this season, but I just can’t root for Berulava after his attitude toward Karina.

Go Zheng/Deng - this is Adele's first international for Team USA!

Flores/Wang don’t have to worry about missing the final flight of the free, turns out.

Zheng/Deng - well, it started off promising and quickly went downhill. I'm not sure the USFS should have sent them out to the JGP this season, but it is what it is. I'll be interested in seeing how they look at the US Pairs Final in a couple months.

A lot of red boxes, but honestly, that wasn't too bad for their first time out.

As a singles skater Adele's 2A was somewhat inconsistent (her triples were better) - not bad at all for someone who just started learning pairs this spring! I'm glad they are getting this experience.
