I'm happy that Ilia won the Fair Play Award! He got my vote too! There were several deserving candidates but IMO Ilia's was the most poignant moment.

I've been wondering if Ilia was doing all of those quads (especially the 4A!) just to keep in good shape for Worlds? He doesn't usually do quads, at least not at the exhibitions that I've seen him in over the years (those were all post-Worlds).

American Ilia Malinin was the overwhelming favorite for the gold medal in the individual event at the 2026 Olympic Games. The world watched as the self-proclaimed "Quad god" then fell several times.

Of all people, the 21-year-old who, just in December, won the Grand Prix Final with a world record free skate and seven perfectly executed quadruple jumps. No one had ever achieved that before him.
