Giant aquarium in Berlin hotel bursts

I didn't even know they had this aquarium and neither did my parents. We're from Berlin, never lived elsewhere in Germany.

It's fortunate that it happened in the early morning hours. It could have been so much worse.

But yeah, like others have said, the poor fish. (I read on the local Berlin channel rbb's website that an animal welfare group plans to sue. Uh, maybe they should have sued before?)

They were able to save some of the fish, but many died. The whole thing is a shame.

^Local Berlin news reported they were able to save around 30 fish. Better than nothing, still, not a lot considering how many there were. I read that some of those who could have been saved froze to death as it was -6°C outside and the ground floor windows and doors burst.
