Actually the parents were reported by police to the child consultation center due to the possibilities of child abuse (mental abuse) yesterday. I wonder if police waited till the child got well enough to talk with them. The child is supposed to leave hospital today. The child/parents are to be under the observation of the child consultation center for a certain period.
I wonder if police wanted to make it sure that no one else were involved in this case - there left possibilities of kidnapping by a third person, or even of an attempted murder by the parents. The parents must have been under the observation/investigation by the police during this past one week. After talking with the kid, police must have judged this case had a possibility of child abuse, and other possibilities must have been denied.
Did they leave him in the woods? I thought they left him on the side of the road and drove off, and then he went into the woods.

I wonder how long they left him. The father makes it sound like he just drove a short distance to scare him and came right back, but the boy seems to have gotten pretty far away.
Reportedly they made the child get out of their car once but they didn't leave him there. They picked him up and left the place. And then they made the child get out of the car again, and this time they left him on the road in the woods. The father ran the car for about 500m and then got back to the place where they left their son in a few minutes.

I'm relieved the kid was found alive (((Yamato)))- not killed by anyone of a bear, a kidnapper, or his parents.
Hope his parents will re-learn with other people's help so that they'll never act impulsively when they got upset with their kid's behavior.
