Although the season is well underway, the first major news is out. In a huge crash at the Tour of Basque Country, 3 of the big four (Jonas Vingegaard, Primož Roglič and Remco Evenepoel) suffered serious injuries and will be out for some time. Evenepoel had the worst of it with a broken collarbone and collapsed lung. This is terrible news so close to the Olympics.

Particularly on top of the Wout injury which is impacting the Classics. I hate to see so many injuries in the sport.

With so many coming from cyclo-cross, the style is definitely morphing into really aggressive riding. Right now, Pojacar is the only 100% healthy one of the big 5. Maybe this is the year that Visma lets Sepp Kuss ride for himself.

Pojacar looked unstoppable at the Giro. Given that 3 of the big 5 are still recovering from the Basque crash and Van Aert’s condition is unknown. Please, please, please Jumbo… let Sepp ride for it in the TdF.

I’m really bummed that Katie Archibald is out of the Olympics:

I can't wait to watch le Tour 2025 and spend zero seconds feeling stressed about Cav vs the time cut.

And wow, what a stage finish today!

Well, if you listen to the US coverage, you will know every time Mark Cavendish takes a deep breath

we can’t stop talking about the man. He seems to be the only cyclist the commentators have ever heard of.

And how do you know he won’t be back in 2025, after all last year was his last Tour de France ever and yet here he is.

I’m totally not stressed because I feel certain he will be dropping out without the stage win. He was a publicity move signing and they’re getting their publicity.

I’m team Poj for this tour. To my eyes, Evenpol never looks well (even before the Basque crash) and I worry about a possible obsession with strength to weight ratio. And I miss Sepp!

I honestly thought something bad like another crash would happen and he'd never get 35, but I'm thrilled for him! I followed cycling before him, but he's one of the last of an era from when I became a big fan and I admire his longevity - not easy as a sprinter. And while I'm no Vino fan, I do appreciate the support they gave him by hiring Morkov and having Renshaw on staff.

I never thought he'd do it. A wasn't a fan of his at first, but he kind of won me over over the years. And the commentators trying to hold back tears. I was at work, so couldn't scream the house down. I'm trying to convert some of my friends into fans, but not much luck so far. :biggrinbo

I was quite happy for Sir Cav, when he won the stage. I think he will stay in the Tour as long as possible. I still remember when he finished a stage in 2018 (afair) although it was clear he won't make the time cut. Ususally I'm not very interested in sprinters. Last year I saw on Netflix a really good documentary about him, which got me interested in his journey.

There is a totally interesting documentary about Biniam Girmay: This is my moment. Trailer
Currently it's avilable on French-German network arte
As far as I can see, it's not geoblocked. There is an OV (next to de and fr versions), although for now just with Spanish and Italian subs.
On reddit I saw a thread (with links), that the docu is also on public broadcasters in other countries (be, nl, no)
here is a list from the official website: watch now. There are two versions around (104/52 min)

Despite some close stages, this Tour hasn't had too much drama about the yellow. But I liked it because so many people got a piece of the prizes, including today's stage.

Agree. Once Poj showed that he could catch just about anyone on a climb, there was little doubt.
