CBC Radio's Q show had a great interview with Yellowjackets actor Kevin Alves who competed internationally for Brazil. In the interview Kevin talks about how being a figure skater helped his acting.

He was a highlight of the 4CC in 2009 for me. Ever since, I’ve followed his social media and it’s been fun to see him make the switch to acting

It was weird to see this thread pop up. Uh, several people have contacted me in my request for help in a situation with a new coach with abuse allegations at my daughters club (a different thread). However, this particular skater (Kevin Alves) was mentioned to me as an example of a suspended coach due to the same reason. It seems he has been suspended by Skatecanada since 2021. They were trying to show me that sometimes the process works in holding coaches accountable for abusive behaviour.

It looks like you're right. According to the list of suspensions at https://lamp.skatecanada.ca/suspended-en.pdf, he has an ongoing interim suspension from October 26, 2021. I'm not that interested in knowing much more about him, to be honest.
