Boulder Wildfires

I'm just south of Denver and have been watching continuous coverage for hours. It got worse with the dark because the flames engulfing the neighborhoods are unreal.

Our local news (in Arizona) showed clips of the wildfires near Boulder. I had vusited that area just 3 months earlier. I hope they can contain it. I heard some fire fighters were injured.

I think what I find so frightening is that the wind gusts may continue until the morning in such a populated area.

The winds dropped overnight and no additional evacuations were required, and it’s going to snow today (finally) which will help. I’m about 12 miles from the area and have actu been in downtown Louisville twice this month.

it’s just crazy; we had a very wet spring which led to high growth of grasses, and virtually no precipitation since July 1. Winds have been high for a couple of days and yesterday morning there were gusts of 100+ mph, so it’s not surprising that power lines went down. Onto the parched grasses. And the winds were too high to use any of the firefighting aircraft.
