Which Morozov is best/least disappointing

Actually, I am surprised that her ice dance results have been not that great. If Morozov dad could make a reasonable ice dancer from his wife (or is she already ex-wife?) just within one year, why can’t he do the same with his daughter? Davankova’s programs were done so cleverly that it really managed to hide her weak points. Her lifts were also quite good. Unlike her, Annabel doesn’t have anything to stand out. Her programs were sort of average, not hiding anything and she didn’t make much impression on me as a dancer. Is it because Annabel doesn’t inspire him professionally as much as his daughter?

How long has she danced with this partner? do you have a link to a vid? I have not seen them yet.

:lol: I don’t know his first wife’s name, or was she the second wife if the Navka rumour was true :D Then Bourne, Grushina, Ando, Ilynikh... I am probably missing a few!
 
I have gone for Vladimir. Stanislav was sweet and I feel sorry for how things turned out for him, but he was a weaker partner. Nikolai has done some great choreography but I can’t say much else positive :slinkaway

Davankova was with her partner for a year in the 2016-17 season. They qualified for the nationals and ended up 7th. While it doesn’t sound that great, one have to take into account that Davankova was originally a pair girl, not an ice dancer. So from zero she went to senior ice dance lady within one year and to qualify for the senior nationals they managed to beat ice dance couples who have done ice dance much longer than that. I am lazy to search for the link but you can put in YouTube Davankova/Shibnev. She then decided to retire after the year. I am guessing it wasn’t very nice to be taught by her husband. (My husband once tried to teach my drive a car; it was a relief for both of us when I decided to pay a driving instructor to do that instead of my husband!) Anyway, my point was how huge progress Davankova managed to make within a year and why can’t Morozov do the same for his daughter.
 
The daughter is very talented, I would say give her time.

Also, keep in mind Davankova's partner may have had more experience competing in ice dance than the daughter's partner for a first season.

And, from what I've heard, I do believe Morozov invests a lot of time and thought into his daughter's training. So, I would not dismiss him so easily as not caring.

And, who knows exactly why Davankova decided to call it quits in ice dance? But maybe she just worked really hard in 2016-17 because she was trying to land her man--and, then decided once she got him that she best not be competing against his daughter!!!

I don’t think Shibnev was that great partner, considering that Davankova appeared to be better than him and it was her first season in ice dance! I don’t know how much time Morozov invests into training his daughter, but the programs he gave her are not doing her any favour, whereas the programs Davankova/Shibnev had really managed to highlight their strengths and cover their weaknesses. Well built program that is done with the skaters’ strengths and weaknesses in mind can make a huge difference!

Regarding Davankova competing just to land Morozov, well, they were in relationship even at the end of the season before, so even if she did start the relationship with the view of catching Morozov, she didn’t have to spend season 2026-17 competing because she already had her man.

I thought he briefly married Navka so they could compete for the same country at the '98 Olympics, and then the marriage was annulled, but I can't remember the source that told me this or how reputable it was.

Unless he is your coach. Since Volosozhar/Trankov he had several junior pairs and none of them ever got anywhere close to nationals. If I was a skater, I would prefer N Morozov who actually gets the results rather than S Morozov who can’t get even juniors to the nationals.
