Anyone used synchro skates?

Post-pregnancy my feet have completely changed size and I need a pair of skates that fit. I found a pair of synchro skates online for $150 that I’m thinking would work well for what I’m likely to do on the ice at this point but I know absolutely nothing about what a synchro skate actually is, lol. I used to wear Graf Edmonton specials when I skated and coached but I don’t need anything that heavy just to go skating with the kids in my life and play once in a while. I also don’t want to spend a ton of money. I’m also open to used skates but haven’t found anything locally.

If Syncro-Skates means what I think it means, it's more the blade than the boot which is different from regular figure skating skates. I once was in a syncro team and some of the mates there had syncro blades, attached to either free skating or ice dancing boots (ice dancing boots are cut a little lower for knee bend). The blades for syncro are shorter than free style blades, even shorter than ice dancing blades. The syncro blades I know are called "Team Precision", and they are also a millimetre broader than regular blades (I don't know how that transposes to inches). If you just want to skate and do some moves in the field, and don't aim at triple jumps, the syncro blades will serve their purpose.

The boots I've seen marked as synchro skates were like dance boots, in that they had a lower back, though not quite as low as dance. For most adults- that would be a decent boot. My coach recommended them to help with ankle bend, though I (unwisely, as I stopped jumping JUST have buying the darn boots) went with something stiffer. Bah.

The blades I've seen marked as synchro are like dance blades in that they have a shorter tail, though not as short as dance. OUR synchro team didn't do anything complicated enough to really warrant that (we were very basic), and I liked the balance a typical tale helps provide.

Having switched to ice dance skates and blades, it's a whole new world, a difficult adjustment. I'd suggest you find a pair of boots/blades meant for regular freestyle skating.
