Gubanaova - beautiful program. You know she loves doing this one. I still have a slight issue with her jumps because they look muscled and don't get great flow out of them. Just competently done with small positive GOEs.

It'll be interesting to see what the judges and tech panel does with that skate. TES would indicate she's going to wind up in 4th overall behind both Lee & Petrokina.

Also - this definitely makes the Russian Sports Tarot lady wrong since she had tapped Gubs for a surprise medal.

I hate this program, and she is probably going to drop to something like 6th now, but it's mostly because the ladies really overperformed tonight.
That said, she'd be around 4th in the Mens LP.

If someone has told me a few years ago that Gubanova would be skating in the final group at the Olympics I would have laughed out loud. She did amazing here. Well done!

As much as I'm sad that this is the last day of Olympic skating, I'm kind of relieved that this is the last time we'll have to hear Brenda Irving pronounce Anasastia's name as "Uh-Nice-To-See-You".
