2026 Olys Womens FS PBP - Missed Full of Horrors

I forgot this Chiba program. I think all her programs blend into this sort of “oh she’s very strong and pleasing” in my brain. She’s always right there, I gotta give her that. I effing love when she smiles.

Some of the jump landings were a little tight so we'll see what the technical panel does, but overall a strong skate to put herself in contention for a medal.

SP: 74.00 = 4th Place
FS: 143.88 = 2nd Place
Total: 217.88 = 1st Place

She didn’t look like she enjoyed being there.
Isn't she really injured? I'm sure she's in a lot of physical pain and has to know that her fan base is...small. I'm sure the atmosphere of the Olympics is overwhelming to her, and she's so much younger, competitive experience wise, than anyone here.

All these poor Russian girls really are victims of terrible circumstance. I feel bad for them. Not enough to root for them in any way, shape or form, but I feel a certain sympathy. Girls in boxes, broken before their time.

Chiba's jumps are too underrotated to ignore, even for this panel. Opening combo looked short potentially on both parts. Lutzes flutzy as usual but will probably escape with a !. Second also looked UR to me. She has seven points on Amber from the short, and I think it'll be enough overall unless they dramatically change their approach to calling.

Chiba - beautiful performance. The jumps come out of nowhere. Skating skills are quality. Some reviews but she laid it down and put herself in contention.

The tech panel better call some of these jumps for Mone because they were clearly UR to the naked eye for even those of us who don't have quite the eagle eyes of @Private Citizen or @tony.
But so are most other skaters that no one ever wants to talk about and they got away with it. Kurakova was a million times worse and I had to read a post about how it's not reality to say that, so I don't expect much here.
