If this is the standard of skating we are in for today it will be an amazing competition. Rotation issues with the Axel, and quadruple toeloop.

SP: 72.41 = 24th Place
FS: 141.92 = 1st Place

Nice job from Li. Big jumps almost certainly short and change camel messy. But a cleanish skate that was the best he can do, and he has a good chance of not being last.

Can someone please explain to me the appeal of Eleanor Rigby music? I would rather skate to silence.

Believe it or not, Jordan Li has been using "Eleanor Rigby" for several seasons (3?), originally choreographed by Yuka Sato and Jeremy Abbott at Detroit Skating Club. He must really like the music!

He probably also can't afford to get new programs every season.

Amazing start for Li, with both a 3a and 4t!

And I loved the big grin on his face when he did that split jump right in front of the judges.

He is a really cute kid and I forgive him for smiling to Eleanor Rigby because he is so happy to be here!

Li is truly winning the gold medal on going out there, giving it your absolute best, and having a wonderful time.

I love this part of the Olympics.

And it looks like it will be a personal best too.

I was going to say this is the first Eleanor Rigby cover that did not make my ears bleed.

I love seeing small fed skaters succeed! So happy he was able to skate pretty clean and handle the emotions of having made the free at the Olympics.

Never thought I’d say this.. but Donovan could learn about commitment to Elvis from Yaroslav Paniot.

Donovan is such a cutie. I love that you can tell how much he's enjoying skating even when the jumps don't all succeed. I hope he sticks around for at least another 4 years.

Another solid skate for Donovan. Issues with rotation, but he stayed on his feet, and sold the performance.

Sorry I find this more cheesy than fun. I’d review every jump and suspect at least half were UR. He has a terrible pronounced toe axel and a bit of a leg wrap. Below Li on my scorecard.
