Who will medal?

Alyssa, Amber and Kaori with Isabeau having an outside shot because she has very crowd-attuned content.

Ami really needs her 3A to be in the conversation and that is a really inconsistent jump for her and Mone is a nervous wreck.

Adeliia looked really rough at nationals.

Niina was solid at Euros in a bleak field - her skating isn't up to par with the Americans or Japanese but a skate like she did a few days ago could hold up if there are uncharacteristic errors from the favorites. The Olympics love a surprise.

A lot of unlikely things would have to align for Loena to medal but the judges and tech panels love her so she's already getting a head start there.

Love Lara but her jumps are just too unstable to really be in the picture - I've said it over and over but I would love to see a world where she does her jumps without the tano.

Petrokina ain't medaling here, but I could see her in the top 6 in the short program, ahead of Petrosian.

Sakamoto is the only one I have any confidence medaling at Olympics. The field is wide open, which is exciting!

I think the top 6 after the SP will be Kaori, Amber, Alysa, Adelya, Mone and Ami, and I think Kaori, Alysa and Amber are the most likely to medal, but I am not writing off Petrosian yet. She did a clean SP recently in Russia, but one of the most fascinating aspects of the event will be how the judges score her skating in the 1st SP group

Another interesting question hanging over figure skating at this year's Olympics is whether the PCS marks at the Men's Free Skating at Euros the other day were an aberration or marked the start of an effort by the ISU to apply the criteria correctly. If it is the latter, Petrosian and Glenn, to name two, could be vulnerable.

That's what I was thinking but the judges aren't ready to go there with her PCS yet to get her into the final group, IMO.

Yes, have to agree.

I am left in impression that Samodelkina is not medal crazy, she skates for solely for love of skating. This factor is for her benefit.
