I gasped out loud when Roman fell on that 2nd 4sal. When he's on, he has the greatest jumping technique ... so straight in the air. He truly is a BEAUTIFUL skater .... you could hear a pin drop at the end of that program. And, then the tears .... made me teary too. Is this his last Nationals?

His jumps were really lovely save the second 4S. What an incredible performance. I'll probably go back and watch his first title LP for fun later.

It's actually remarkable how much his consistency has improved in one season. Is he seeing a new sports psychologist or something?

Good for Gogolev for keeping it together through both programs. He hasn't really ever been in this position before, of being the one that everyone else is chasing. He skated lights out in the LP in Oshawa a few years ago, but that was after being 2nd-last in the SP.

All 3 men on the podium have had performances to be proud of here

Stephen... He seems to have FINALLY found his groove and, most importantly, his confidence. It's been a loooong time coming but good for him. I'm very happy for him. Wish we had 2 Olympic spots (so Roman could go too) ...sniff.

Just back from lunch with a friend and getting caught up on the men and what a great skate from the top 3! I know it's been a tough few years for Canadian men in the doldrums but Gogo has earned his spot in Italy.
