2025 ISU GPF Ice Dance Free Dance - Have No Fear Shawn’s Not Here

She is trying to skate up to his level and I think he's slightly bored not having a partner as strong as Gabi.
And unfortunately it shows. Especially when he's followed by C/B. They always skate flat out 100 percent TO the audience, with verve, energy and emotion. They rarely bore me.

I think with Ciz the whale music doesn't help. That would bore anybody.

Chock/Bates

Definitely the most audience-friendly (well, maybe Fear/Gibson’s was more), amazing lifts, okay basics—and if no one is going to skate with speed, then their lack of it doesn’t stand out. Choreo steps super simple and mostly just clapping. Dramatic ending, but that’s the only time he looks like a bull. More bull, please

Laurence FOURNIER BEAUDRY/Guillaume CIZERON relaxing on the sofa. LOL
Waiting for Chock/Bates scores.

And the French are clapping matter of factly. LOL

It's the PCS cap on the fall that really did it, plus the 2 deductions for fall and for extended lift.

If Madison and Evan are 9.50+ on skating skills then a clean FB/C have to be a 10.00 for it to even slightly make sense, but that's even not enough of a separation.

It's my favorite Chock & Bates free dance by a LONG way since 2022, like no question. But they are getting even slower, all of a sudden everyone wants to see the twizzle issue that I've been told I've beaten to death for an Olympic cycle even though it's always been there. The program is very up and down, the edges are shallow, there's almost no use of upper body at all, and it looks like he's really hanging on to try to get through this season. I respect doing the diagonal step so late in the program but it CRAWLS as a final impression, the opening lift takes a bit to get into, the final slide choreographic movement also looks rough just about every time. But the GOE.....

That said, I can't fault the win seeing who the two teams are in 3rd & 4th. The PCS needs to be more reality based, though, as do elements like the twizzles and the one foot. This is not a 9.50+ team in skating skills nor in composition of program.

Twizzles for Chock & Bates- 7 of the 9 judges gave a +4. A +4 is NOT a possible score if there is even one negative feature within the element. Tell me how this makes any sense, time and time again.

FB/C ended up with PCS below Fear/Gibson. Only 2 points above R/A.

I feel like Piper's expression is very subdued lately. Did someone tell her not to make her O face? It feels like she is holding back. That together with her posture issues which seem to be worse this season aren't helping. They need to express to the max if they want to stand a chance against F/G's very energetic, upbeat, crowd friendly program.

The PCS cap would be 9.50 but that's only if it 'minimally affects the program'. I'd say it was a pretty massive disruptive error and they are super lucky it didn't happen a split second later to wipe out the final element altogether-- which would've even put a medal at risk.

Sure to your other points, but really disagree with no upper body use. If anything, it’s argueable that they do too much upper body leading to generate speed and distance of movement vs. energy from their feet. But it’s compositionally coherent to me; undulating torsos to represent the dynamics of a goring bull.

I can take your point maybe for her and the 'flair' of it all but he does almost nothing

Happy for Fear and Gibson! :cheer: :cheer2: It's the "Bourne and Kraatz Memorial" FORTH place chocolate medal for Gilles and Poirier. I'm sure they'll continue to blame everyone but themselves, but they're looking really rough and ragged this season. Time has caught up to them.

If anything, FB&C were overscored and should've been fourth (or lower) in the free, given the error. The slack that people and judges cut this team is . They had a disruptive fall in the free, FFS. If Piper Gilles is going to complain about anything, I hope she complains about that.

I have seen more convincing goring bulls at Nagoya's 7/11 frozen foods section.
