2025 Cranberry Cup International (August 7-10, 2025), Norwood, MA, USA

Keeping a program for two full seasons can make it feel very dull by the time the Olympics comes along. I'd give Levito's SP time to develop, but I also wouldn't be surprised if she brings back "Moon River" for the Olympics. Bringing a successful program back later can make it feel more fresh again v. everyone feeling like they had seen it 10x already by the time the Olympics rolls around.

I have zero issue with the booty shorts from Isabeau, btw, even for a competitive program. She's was still more covered up than most ice dancers during any Latin-themed RD season.
To me, it was a mismatch to the music. Certainly not inappropriate as far as skin coverage, and could be a cool choice of garment depending on the theme of the program. Just not for this program.

I wouldn't bring back "Moon River", to be honest. The program was fine and I get that when one skates to that music, the natural inclination is to go for the classic Audrey Hepburn look, but it's also a bit lazy creatively. I'd rather she keep this program, which has a similar feel but doesn't have an obvious costume crutch entry point for the average viewer. Isabeau is a talented enough performer to be able to capture the mood & feel of the music even without the little black dress & gloves, pearls and French twist.

I think I mostly agree with you, though I can see the idea of a '60s mod vibe in the booty shorts & plain, fitted red shirt, if it looked truly like an intended costume rather than something thrown together for a very early season competition.

Levito - cutesy little program, feels almost a little too babyish for her but feels fresh amongst the field. Like the costume but back then they really would have been wearing more like 3/4 leggings.

Samo - nice jumps but her skating is about as appealing as Slute's was back in the day (which is to say not at all).

Shin - Great all around skater despite the jump errors but the packaging is so generic.

Hilmer - looked tentative, not sure the concept really gelled. Nice to see her going for and landing 3+3. Lose the hat.

Lee - program isn't a great fit for her, guess that explains the low PCS.

Kim - her skating and technique are so wacky. Lots of raw talent but needs a make over.

And here we are for the Men's SP! Battle for Israel's OQE assignment under way right from the go, though Vinokur's looking pretty early season rusty.

The skate gave almost nothing, so I kept focusing on his costume. While I appreciate men going for something more creative, this half vest/cape thing is just distracting. And is that supposed to be a cage over his heart on the other side? A few less ideas next time.

The costume swallowed his quads, lol.

I think Isabeau’s program has a lot of potential but she could push it further and add a bit of camp to it. Jia is lovely and has some superb skating skills but that music requires a lot more feeling. But that’s definitely something she can develop throughout the season.

this program does absolutely nothing for gorodnitsky who is forgettable enough as it is

There’s a man in the front row who looks like Mandy Patinkin.

Yeah, anyway, some men are skating. It’s August.
I don't know why I had higher expectations for August of an Olympic season, but here we are with the men menning like it's any other day.
