Unusual schedule this year, with senior dance mid-afternoon on Friday and Saturday lunchtime, I guess to accommodate Fear/Gibson's travel schedule for the GPF. Their eighth win will give them the record for the most national ice dance titles (currently tied with Torvill/Dean and the Kerrs).

Junior events kicked off today with the junior women's short programme. The stream has already been taken down, but:
1. Alice Smith, 51.60 - fall on the loop - jazz medley including Hot Honey Rag
2. Lilian Musgrave, 48.51 - jumps a bit clunky but got the job done - tango
3. Darya Dalgich, 47.65 - intentional doubles but superior skating skills - kept last year's French song
4. Arina Vorobeva, 46.68 - step out on axel, popped loop / invalid element - Vilanelle soundtrack per ISU bio
5. Kira Khomenko, 39.19 - downgraded 3 loop - Kurakova-esq Up programme complete with balloon dress
Leilah Patten either withdrew before the draw or didn't register.

Senior RD will be mid-afternoon tomorrow, Fear/Gibson scheduled to skate third. It's 16 years since we last had two groups for senior dance!

That’s a disappointment, especially as it may impact the junior worlds assignment. But cheers to them for taking a head injury seriously, unlike too many people in this sport.
