2025–26 Canadian Pairs: News and Updates

It also wasn't a unique design, solely for her. If you look at the OdlR 'Spring 2026' runway collection, look 56 (at the bottom of the page) is the gown version of Deanna's SP dress.
Though that dress isn't under the 'ready to wear' section, other intricately beaded gowns that are available for purchase on the website are around $25-30K (CAD).

No matter our thoughts on her dresses, it's still really cool that she took the initiative to reach out to various haute couture designers on LinkedIn and managed to convince such a major brand to collaborate with her.
A bit disappointed that there is nothing about the dresses on the brand's Instagram, but maybe they'll have something closer to, or during the Games.
I hope they do, if only to show a 'real' woman in their clothes. Emaciated isn't a strong enough word for one of the models

@victorskid originally posted this link in the Canadian Ice Dance thread - just moving it here:

Beau Callahan and Valdimir Furman have ended their partnership and she is looking for a new partner:

They placed 5th of 6 Junior pairs at 2026 Canadians and competed in 1 JGP this season: https://www.isuresults.com/bios/isufs00123858.htm
Just checked and she has yet to post an IPS profile.

OMG if Deanna doesn’t get to compete after all of this…truly heartbreaking for her and Max.

There is a small amount of time before the pairs event, but you have to assume this must be a reasonably bad injury if there is uncertainty two weeks out.

This has already been asked on X, but in case anyone here is wondering, they can be replaced in the Pairs event at any point up until the Pairs SP draw, which is on Friday, Feb 13th, so they have about 10 days to, hopefully, get this dealt with.

I do hope that Skate Canada brings Laurin/Ethier over to train in Europe for the next week and a half in case they are called up at the last minute.

Oh no :(. Of course it's bad news for both of them, not just Deanna. Any :sekret: on what the injury is, or how bad it may be?

Deanna has been pushing the limits of what's humanly possible. No one has ever competed at this level at this age. It seemed to me that both of their bodies were starting to give out this season, with so many freaky mistakes and uneven performances. In the backs of our minds, I suspect we all knew she was on borrowed time, but it would be cruel if it all ended two weeks before the Olympics. I hope she can skate on Olympic ice to cap what has been a truly remarkable career. 🙏

I echo Karen-W's sentiment that it would be good to get Laurin and Ethier to Europe, just in case. To be honest, they've been the best of the Canadian pairs this season performance-wise, even if their ability is not quite up to the two teams ahead of them.

Oh noo Deanna and Max 😥 I hope she heals well and is okay.

I wonder if they could get Laurin and Ethier in or not.

Their SB is within 3 points of PerMich and part of the block of 6 teams that are all in the high 180s-low 190s for SB (ChanHowe, GhiAmbro, AkoRakh, HocKun are the other 4 teams), so they're doing quite respectably and I have every confidence they'd easily make the FS and do Canada proud, even if they don't come home with a medal or an Olympic diploma.

Interview with Maddie. Entirely possible I am reading too much into this but considering there are close and text all the time according to Maddie I found it noteworthy that she said she hoped she had a good support system around her and not that she hoped she would be fine for the individual event.

Devin also has a tweet about mentioning Lauren/Ethier can be alternates and the deadline for Deanna and Max to withdraw.

I concur that brief interview with Maddie Schizas doesn't sound promising that Deanna and Max will compete in the individual event.

Even if it isn't a worst case injury, something like a hairline fracture or mild concussion shouldn't be rushed or ignored when it comes to the healing process.
