Goldenskate interview with new Canadian team Bashynska/Perron
I hate this team. That was evil from Nadiia in middle of season left her partner and coaches who help help her reach success. Hope that Peter will find better partner in Canada and will get better results than Bashynska/Perron

this is vile.

You clearly have a personal connection to the coaching team or Peter Beaumont. Your behaviour reflects incredibly badly on them. This is not the space for your personal grievances. Take them elsewhere.

Huh, when they were training primarily in France I assumed that country was going to be the one they competed for, even though Nadiia was obviously the more successful one of the two in prior partnerships. Glad to still have her under the flag.

After we gave Laurence to France so speedily, one assumes the French fed won't make trouble for them.

Wow. Someone's really bitter & upset that Nadiia realized Carol Lane's school isn't producing good programs or results for any teams not named GilPoir - which makes me believe that GilPoir's success is far more on they themselves as mature skaters with a well-developed identity than it is on Lane & her team.

If Canada manages to keep 3 spots for worlds going forward I can see them managing to get one of those spots quite soon if they can develop quickly as a partnership. Maybe even be in a position to go after that 3rd 4CC spot this year?

his last comp for France was Egna Dance Trophy on February 7th, so idk how close it'll be for 4CC. hopefully he can get his release soon.

4CCs is in January this season There are some minor FS competitions scheduled the first weekend of the Olympics and the last weekend of the Olympics but no major ISU Championships during February this season.

Euros - Jan 13-18
4CCs - Jan 21-25
Jr Worlds - Mar 3-8
Worlds - Mar 24-29

Likely GP and LaLa have a lock on the top two spots, and the way they're skating so far this season the 3rd spot is almost certainly LauriaultLeGac. However I think it's likely that GP would skip 4CC due to it being in January in Beijing and so close to the Olys in Feb in Italy. Perhaps even LaLa will skip it too. So a good chance for BashPerron to get to 4CC if he gets his release.

I don't that's possible, as 4CC will be less than a year from his last international event for France.

Precisely.

The past couple of Olympic cycles, the US & Canada have not sent their Olympic team members to 4CCs and I don't see that changing this season. Seems a reasonable expectation that the #4-6 dance teams at CanNats will be the 4CCs team.

It's an interesting article and some of the things she touches on I have picked up in her instagram posts. She seems to be finding more depth in herself so I am looking forward to her exploring that and showing us ( something I thought was missing in her other partnership that prevented me from connecting to them). I just need her new fellow to ditch that moustache, I just really dislike a moustache :drama:

Wow. Perhaps you don't know that people can see your previous posts and you are obviously connected to the Scarboro camp in some way. All your posts are positive about Scarboro and Carol and negative towards Iam London, specifically. And then to make this bizarre post that is so toxic towards a young woman who has every right to take control of her own career makes it even more obvious that something is wrong at Scarboro.

⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️ THIS! They haven't developed any other pair of dancers other than P&P in a long long time. Their numerous Jr teams have all severely struggled and failed to develop year over year, and most just end up quitting. It's too bad there are no other dance schools in the GTA because anyone unwilling to move seems to go to Scarboro. If only London, and even Kitchener, were commutable.

Rob Brodie interview with Fabbri/Ayer: 'Something that I'll cherish forever'

Fabbri and Ayer convinced Donohue to make the three-hour drive south to Calgary — Ayer’s hometown — to work on the program at the rink where it all started for him at the Glencoe Club. Now, here is where this story brings out all the warm and fuzzies in the 27-year-old Ayer, who got emotional sharing it all.

“For the first time in our career, we went to Calgary for choreography. I’m probably going to tear up throughout this (conversation), but’s it’s where I’m from. My family’s there, and my mom and brother would come watch us kind of build the program, which was a first for them,” he said. “I was able to see my dad often, who suffers from Alzheimer’s; he’s in a home. So to be able to be in the city and every few days be able to visit and have not only my brother and my mom, but my extended family watch us create this program is something that I’ll cherish forever.”
🥲

New partnership - Amanda Urban & Peter Beaumont

I am watching Nadiiya’s YouTube video, where they are currently training at Scott’s camp (none of the skaters featured look familiar to me but I have not been following skating the way I used to). But the Moir family has its own skating shop? Next time I visit London (I do want to attend the Shakespeare Festival at some point), I will go there and buy a souvenir. There is a big photo of Scott and Tessa in their flamenco phase.

Since 2017 but I think the uncle was sharpening skates long before that and this was the brick and mortar store opening that Scott invested in. I think the dance studio is on the second floor of that building.

Watched the video as well. They seem to be skating with a lesser known group but I noticed one couple wearing US jackets so maybe the Peals?

It's really nice to hear them talk about the training environment. Really happy Scott is creating a place where skaters are happy and thriving.

The other teams I noticed were Anderson/Dawson (Jr) and Robinson/Portz
