Glacier Falls Synchro Fall Classic - Friday Nov 8 and Saturday Nov 9 - Irvine, CA

The annual Synchro Fall Classic is this weekend! 123 Synchronized Skating teams, from Aspire 1 to Junior/Senior and Adult, will be competing this coming Friday Nov. 8 and Saturday Nov. 9 at Great Park Ice and FivePoints Arena located at 888 Ridge Valley, Irvine, CA 92618. www.greatparkice.com

This is a selection event for Junior and Senior teams that are hoping to represent TEAM USA. The top 9 Junior and 7 Senior teams in the USA are going to be here, including Hayden and Skyliners.

All of the teams from smaller skaters to Adults, work hard to perform their routines. They are amazing and entertaining to watch, and they love it when you cheer for them. In fact, if you have never been to a synchro competition, bring your ear plugs, as it can be pretty loud

Tickets at the door are $15 for the day, or $25 for both days.

The competition will also be streamed by Coronado Productions. Go to: www.coronadoproductions.net

If you are suffering from "Election Burnout" come to the Synchro Fall Classic, you will have a great time.

Interesting how many Senior teams are going with 12 skaters this year now that it's an option.

Also interesting that Hayden will have two Senior teams in competition with one another... especially when one of them is so obviously their B team. Wonder how that will stack up.

I'm really surprised to see how far behind Skyliners are in this field. Yes, behind the Finnish teams is expected, but finishing 30 points behind is unexpected. Admittedly those lifts were so, so awful and skating to Creep is just, well, not it. The Haydenettes fall scores aren't exactly impressive either... I've found video of NEXXICE's first outing of the season and while I get Canadian teams start their seasons late, they look like a huge mess this year - so much younger and less poised. Les Supremes looks much more ready to go - better than they did at nationals last year.

While the Finnish teams were bad last year, I wouldn't be surprised to see them surge back to the top of the podium with Les Supremes in the mix as well. Team Unique looks great and has a great FS (if a very cringe SP).

Trend wise I hate the un-hooked up but organized chaos blobs. Skaters solo skating randomly to their spots in a new shape is unexpected, but not in a good way.
