Relevant excerpt from Robert Brodie's Oct. 24th Substack article:

While CBC has Anastasia Bucsis on site at Scotiabank Centre to conduct athlete interviews during the competition, its commentary team of Brenda Irving, Kurt Browning and Carol Lane will work the event from CBC’s studio in downtown Toronto. As we mentioned previously, the public broadcaster will have some live television coverage of Skate Canada International on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Everything will be streamed live on CBC Gem and at cbcsports.ca.

The Skate Canada site says the Canadian Championships will be livestreamed on their site and CBC Gem but CBC’s livestream page only mentions 4 continents:

It should be. You also need the gem streaming app.

I did have to sign up for GEM on my laptop but didn't download any app. I was able to do a basic sign up for free, which is all you need for live sports since it isn't archived anyway, but you do get more privileges for streaming series in advance of TV air date and also archives of previously broadcast episodes if you want to pay for a subscription.
As for streaming on a smart tv or firestick etc I personally can't say.

You don't need to have the CBC Gem app to watch Gem on a desktop. I have Gem on my streaming stick and also watch it from my laptop browser.

Despite a schedule that indicates CBC sports website will live stream all Junior & Senior segments at the Canadian championships, here https://www.cbc.ca/sports/streaming-schedule, I have not been able to find any Junior links, and only 9 of 10 Senior links. (For whatever reason Senior Synchro Short is up but not the Free). I'm wondering if the lack Junior links maybe indicates that those streams will be Skate Canada Productions commentary - identical to those on Daily Motion, while the Senior events might be a different commentary from the usual CBC commentators? maybe?? Really who knows?

Unfortunately not, AFAIK. Does she have a cell phone with an wifi connection?

@jadingirl's mother seems to be in the same situation? Or can she stream from her computer to the TV?

my mom is in her 80s and also wants to watch but does not use a computer or cell phone (despite me getting her one and even paying for the plan with tons of data!). She is sad to miss it, but will have to settle to watch it the next time we are together in front of my computer.

Does she have a SMART TV to get the CBC Gem app?

That is what I do.

I am so sad that there is no tv coverage for all those who don't use, computers, tablets, smart TV's, or cell phones, a lot of seniors have supported skating for many, many years, Skate Canada is now ignoring a huge majority of skate fans who simply want to turn on the TV to watch National's. They don't want to sign in, use passwords, apps, etc., deal with buffering, blue screens of death, and/or poor-quality video. Yes, streaming has its great points, esp if archived, but not everyone can afford all the needed new technology, and even if they have the streaming capacity, it is so frustrating to watch!
