Thanks for the link. I am having a really bad laptop day and didn't see the longs, but your link was not quite what I wanted since it is only long scores. So sorry to be so dumb numb, i meant what scores and finish number in short, long and then overall, it's not linking for me like it usually does. I think I did the math right below? Tell me if this is posted anywhere so I can make sure I am not making scores up, thanks.

Britschgi, SUI, was
1st in short w. 91.51, 3rd in long w. 154.71, & first overall w. 246.22

Gorodnitsky, ISR, was
2nd in short w. 82.06, 1st in long w. 161.23 & second overall w. 243.24

Brown, USA was
4th in short w. 78.48, 2nd in long w. 158.27 & third overall w. 236.75

And more importantly, what do we think of Jason's comp, was it ok or should he have done better here, certainly 2nd in long was good?

Just going by the protocol... Assuming he makes it to Worlds, he will need a second 3a and should consider perhaps going for two lutzes (only one today was a double) and ditch the 2a altogether.

I'm interested in seeing this FS. "Tarzan," is not music I'd have expected for Jason!

From what I understand Jason hasn’t been training very much till recently so I would imagine improvements by nationals.

I liked the program. The choreography is interesting and the music will be new to most of us. The judges may throw him some “yay, something different” points. If he’s serious about Nats, he’ll do his best to fix the tech content. Frankly, US men, other than Malinin, are so unreliable, he might not need to do more than 2 3A’s and some super clean 3/3s.

I watched on my phone while also watching Espoo on my TV. I also don’t think the audio is the best, so take my impression with a grain of salt. I did not like it. It will require him to skate flawless and even then, I don’t know. It is still on Youtube, Warsaw Day III. I am going to reserve final judgment until Nationals.

Thanks, both programs are still up on YouTube. I preferred the SP, even though the tech was more messy. The footwork sequence especially is fabulous.

There are things I liked about the free, but the first part is a bit empty, and some of the moves are recycled from prior programs and I don't really see them fitting here. And maybe it's the less than stellar quality of the YT video, but his costume also looks terrible. The pale yellow-green bleeding into the black just looks like a healing bruise. I expected the choreo sequence to feature leaps like he was jumping from tree to tree, but alas... wasted opportunity. Not terrible, but not one of his most memorable programs (at least at this time).

Jason's skating was fine--short a wee bit shaky, long fabulous! He was the only one of the top four who had beauty and style. He is so artistic he makes me cry. His jumps were fine for this point in the season, and he skated WONDERFULLY! Some of the other skaters were jump, ump, jump, ump, BLAH BLAH. Even Jason's arms, hands, legs and had expression. His footwork was magic. He looked at the audience to bring them in, to make them part of the fun. Jason's whole long program was full of authentic skating charm, with some good and some great jumps thrown in for a complete package. He is still improving! Congratulations to him on a great skate. Good start to the season!
