I know Memola has World Juniors as a medal contender, but I think he should go to Euros as well and battle it out for one of the two senior spots. He won the free skate here, after all.

Grassl won't be left out of Euros IMO, so it's likely Frangipani getting nothing the rest of the season.

yes, his jumps were textbook!

Not sure that I agree with Rizzo only 4 points ahead in PCS though. he is good in basic skating and WILL get there but is not on Rizzo's level yet.

I wonder how much the coach shopping hurt Grassl. He needs a consistent jumping technique, even if it doesn’t look pretty. I have used 3 golf coaches in a season, with predictably bad results… do this, no focus on that, as long as you remember this third thing!

This was his best shot at going to Europeans and I can't belive the Italian fed would pass Memola for him. All those years when there was only Rizzo. Then along came Grassl and then suddenly there was a viable 3rd man and 3 spots at Europeans! This was going to be his year. Except, then the youngster was there. With the Russians not at Europeans this year, the men's podium is really wide open between the Italians, French and possibly the Estonian team. And Deniss.

he let her drop about 1m on her backside out of a lift. One could see the lift going pear shaped a few moments before that but instead of aborting he just dropped her... that is why I always appreciate when a partner does not try to muscle through a lift but aborts early on!

she seems okayish but these kinds of falls hurt so much more than from a jump. poor girl
