2022 US Women Olympic Team Poll

I know there is so much to be revealed over the next few months but may as well get the year started with this one....

I'm kind of hoping that all 3 of the ladies known to be attempting 3As land them and leave the USFS in a real pickle as to who to send, lol

I voted for the first 3 like most people so far, but I don’t think they will necessarily place top 3 at US Nats. I think Karen could maybe place 4th and still be sent after her placement at Worlds last year. Would the other 2 would qualify under body of work if they placed outside the top 3 - is there specific criteria, would Bradie’s 4CC medal count? Would Alysa’s 2 National titles or JW bronze count? I guess a lot will depend on the GP too for BoW.

I voted Alysa, Karen and Mariah.

Alysa has had a strong season so far, winning Cranberry Open and Lombardia.

I haven't seen Karen and Mariah yet - they are more on my wish list more so than my prediction list. Bradie and Amber are injured and for me probably in 4th and 5th for now.

I will be very surprised if anyone outside of these 5 make it to the Olympics.

I am inclined to believe the selection committee would choose Alysa, Karen and Bradie going by the current climate, but this season’s Grand Prix will really tell the tale. If Mariah and Amber somehow get their acts together and outperform Karen and Bradie, then all bets are off. It’s all about building consistency and that international body of work this fall as to who will shine in January. Alysa is really building a reputation for herself as the most steady competitor the US has and she obviously has worked hard to improve her PCS and that clearly bodes well for her chances.

Karen Chen placed 5th behind Starr Andrews in the SP at the Autumn Classic with a 58.01, only landing a clean 2Axel. It will be a marathon, not a sprint, to make this Olympic team.

I think the team will be Alysa, Bradie, Karen- unless one of them has a very poor US nationals.

I need to see the skaters who haven't performed yet before I can vote. Alysa for sure is going imo, but Karen is giving me pause and we've yet to see Bradie. Amber didn't look very strong in her one SP, but she didn't compete her FS. I need her to compete a full event in order to decide. Several of the newbies might give the vets quite a run for their money at Nationals!

I think it's impossible to predict besides being confident that Alysa will make the team. Was Mariah's poor performance this year a one-off? Is Bradie OK? Karen looked rather dismal in her outing as well. We have to wait for the GP to make a better informed prediction

I am afraid Miss Rydberg would need divine intervention of some order to make the Olympic team.

Everyone else on this list has a long ways to go to reach Alysa Liu's stellar early season standard.
