Official notification:

Result page:

Place:
Ice Skaing Rink in Uijeongbu (986 seats).
  • City of Uijeongbu is located to the North from Seoul. Transportation to this city is so and so. The government is constructing an express subway (GTX C) from Seoul to Uijeongbu, which will be completed in 2027.
  • National Skating Training Center Complex at Taereung will move to Uijeongbu in a few years. Construction of a (long) speed skating rink is planned.
KSU changed their home page structure recently. I am trying to figure it out, but it's not clear which board they use to post most recent notices. Meanwhile, KSU modified the competition schedule structure to avoid injuries and exhaustion.

Nov. 30th - practice day for juniors
Dec 1st - junior practice & short program
Dec 2nd - junior practice & free skating, then senior practice
Dec 3rd - senior practice & short program
Dec 4th - senior practice & free skating

Thank you for the information! @seabm7 could you tell us what the results of this competition will be used towards? Four Continents team? Part of the qualification to worlds? Qualification to nationals?

Does Yelim Kim have to compete at this event?
Yes, unless she wants to skip 4CC and forgo the opporutnity to become a national team member.

I heard a rumor Lim and Quan may skip the event. They will stay in junior level this year and do not go to 4CC.

Well, seeing as the RD is completely different in junior vs senior, it doesn't surprise me that Lim/Quan would skip this event and remain fully committed to Jr Worlds this year.

There are no words, though, for the KSF insisting that any GPF or senior age-eligible JGPF qualifiers compete at this ranking competition. Bad scheduling on their part - they could have scheduled this for the following week.

I can't decide whether that makes me sad, or angry. This skating federation continues to try to undermine their top skaters by making them compete in high stress competitions just before going to important international events. It boggles the mind.

The official schedule/starting order notices have been uploaded, which are already tweeted by the @ skatingkor account. One can download the excel schedule files from here.

December 4th is the World Skating Day. KSU is planning to have a fan signing event with senior men medalists at the premise. The problem is, the event will be held during senior women free skating sessions.

ISU WORLD ICE SKATING DAY December 4
ㅇ 14:30 fan signing event with senior men medalists
ㅇ 16:00 fan signing event with short track Beijing medalists
ㅇ Also, gala show and
ㅇ on-ice event

I just checked the protocols of senior short. Overally, the results look as expected except Young You. Her technical content had jump problems. You lost her father during the Olympics (alas...) and needs rest.

If you want to see the protocols unzip "Day3.zip" listed at

Dabin Choi tried 3-3. Though both jumps were not fully rotated, I am proud of her. She came back from semi-retirement and continues training to go to Lake Placid Winter Universiade. KSU hasn't announced the Universiade team yet, but I presume Korea gets 3 tickets for men's singles and women's singles respectively as they hoped, which gives Dabin a ticket as well as Yelim.

ETD: Juheon LIM was a junior with Skate Canada before he moved to KSU.
