2021/2022 Canadian Ice Dance: News and Updates

Somewhat out of nowhere, it looks like D’Alessandro & Waddell are retiring (or at a minimum not skating together).

Well, color me shocked. I thought they had a legit shot at the third place berth for the next Olympics. (With some necessary growing years in between).

Is Bruce too short for Sasha?

Per wikipedia, he is 2 1/2" taller than her. (So not impossible, but a big difference from what he is used to).

What about emmy b for Bruce?

Emmy would be a better fit, both height-wise and ability-wise, I think.

Of course, Great Britain has a second dance spot at Worlds open now. (But Canada would not let him go now. How long would it take?)

There's also Irina Galiyanova. She's probably moved on, but she's capable.

If they do stay on then they will need to move up as they’ve both aged out of junior now. There was talk at nationals of him being injured since the JGP this season (I feel like arthritis was mentioned?) so who knows. I love them though so hope they will stay on!

I had posted about this event earlier but don't recognize Axel's new partner. In case anyone was wondering why Peter Beaumont isn't pictured, his latest IG stories indicate he is vacationing in England.
