If Hanyu and Chen take the top 2 spots (although you never know), who would be bronze...

Although I much prefer Aliev and Samohin, but Kolyada is more consistent and usually skates better at home, so I voted for him for bronze.

Also, from the fan cam practice vids, one should be able to easily tell that Hanyu moves around A LOT better than Chen does and I hope the PCS is scored accordingly to reflect that.

I said Kolyada as well.

They didn't. Lol

PCS was a joke here. Kolyada falls 3 times and still gets higher PCS then Nathan? Do they think he's the second coming of Yagudin?
That's for sure! I think he and other Russian skaters were GIVEN higher scores to make them look good to the international community given it is an Olympic year. As much as I think Med is phenomenal I don't know where her 150 points came from with a fall.

ISU has been very clear! Falls are technical more than program. The isu could ban all PCs over 5 for programs with falls tomorrow but they haven’t. Until isu rules say certain categories can’t go over a certain number when a program has falls you will have this.

If a program has a fall Performance can’t be over 5 can be the most immediate rule change. Maybe even 5 is too high.

Then you have skating skills transitions interpretation and composition.

You can argue composition also should be capped at 5 because falling destroys unity

Not a fan of Kolyada but he did have good speed throughout his program. While having fallen, he did fully rotate his big jumps so he did still accumulate a lot of points.

Yes but that's a cheesy program with lots of posing. And he feel 3 times. So other than ss he should be low on every pcs category

Falls happen for like 1 second each, so if the rest of his TR, CH, PE and IN remain high standard, it can be argued that impact on his components should have been minimal and his PCS could have been justified despite the falls.

However, while I acknowledge the speed, my view is that his TR, CH, PE and IN aren't even high 8s-worthy on a good day, let alone a mistake-ridden day. :P
