Great episode and I knew breaking it down element by element was going to come out in the French team's favor. They are just that good, even with the mistakes.

I know there has to be a way to compare apples to apples, but the biggest issue I have with IJS is the way the parts are greater than the whole. The PCS should be the way to judge the big picture, but it can't overcome the massive GOE the +5 system gives.

Really interesting breakdown. I found it very informative and appreciated the discussion at the end around the scoring system being an issue. It’s going to sound sappy, but it did help me process my frustration with the result, and I appreciated you taking the time to do it. The Skating Scores tool is so cool.
If you can find time, I'd appreciate further scoring, not just GilPo and GuiFab, but of all the teams you thought could be medal contenders or close to, if judged fairly, like LopBri. I wouldn't even mind off-season, when everything cooled down.

My understanding is that audience members are instructed that any photos or videos they take are for "personal use only." So posting these on Youtube with your commentary could be seen as a violation of that.

I am always interested in, when presented with pretty indisputable facts, how few people change their opinion and, most importantly, their conclusion. We live in a day and age where people take a position, choose a side, argue a point of view, go on the record, and then are willing to die on that hill. Going along with that seems to be, only listen to the voices that you know ahead of time will agree with your point of view, and react to anyone who differs as being biased without really considering the points to their argument. Keeping an open mind, at least initially, seems harder and harder to do. I greatly admire the work Tony and Thomas are doing as I feel they are pushing us to not just choose a side and then complain when it doesn't go our way but really understand the sport and if we don't like it, push for real solutions.
