Agree. I have a lot of sympathy for Laurence. She was placed in a very unfortunate situation through no fault of her own. She partnered with arguably one of the best male dancers of all time and they worked their butts off and created something special. Good on them.

You feel the same as I do. I'm sorry, but I don't understand what the judges were looking at. Yes, in C/B's rhythm dance, one of Maddie's edges weren't correct, and I didn't even notice it. They must have went over it with a magnifying glass and fine-tooth comb to find that mistake.

What I did notice today during FB/C's free dance was that she (sorry, I can't think of her name right now and that's fine with me) screwed up on the first twizzles by stepping out and down before he did. I noticed right off the bat without the need of watching a replay.

I also would like to know how their presentation and technical abilities were better when he kept twirling her around and around up in the air nearly the whole time. I didn't see a lot of foot work other than their twizzles, and he had her back up in the air twirling her around and around again.

Maybe Evan should have twirled Maddie up in the air around and around like a bird or whatever.

Anyway Congrats to medalists on the podium. It's not right, and I'm not being partial. I also think that Piper and Paul were better than FB/C.

Absolutely world gold material. I'm not American, I'm not invested in any US couple doing well, but these two have impressed me so much this year and I'm very excited to see what's coming for them.
 
Huge congratulations to all of the medalists!!!

Really really wanted gold for Chock & Bates. But a silver is wonderful too, along with their two team golds. Higher than the last American finish at the Olympics. What legends they are and will be in US Ice Dance. What a classy, lovely couple. Very graceful on accepting silver. I had a gut feeling all season this would be the result for them. But I was still hoping…

So so happy for Piper and Paul bronze! This was the result I was rooting for too. They skated great tonight. Nice to see the joy and the happiness.

FB/Cizeron. Just can’t get behind them with the way they came together in addition to Gabby’s allegations of how he treated her. They’ve always had a prentious air to me. They are lovely, powerful skaters and the judging panel was all in for that. So be it.

Sad the Brits didn’t skate their best. Thrilled for Zingas & Kolesnik. Just wow! And loved Dune. So many dances I thoroughly enjoyed tonight.

I’m super tired of all the posts about retirement. So maybe this result tonight will end that 🙏🙏🙏

I almost agree with you. I don't think off-ice stuff should affect the judging, and they are incredible skaters.

But FB/C got 8.44 for the twizzles, with an egregious error. G/F had a more minor error, and got 6.88. Give FB/C the rest of the points, but dock him where he messed up. One less point, and he loses gold, and I'm incredibly far from a C/B fan, but I think that should have happened.

Eh, I thought it was pretty close. With Ciz's mistake in the twizzles and some other off moments, I would have put ChoBat ahead of them in the FD. But probably not by enough to overcome the RD difference since they didn't get the levels they needed in a few places and those calls were fair IMO.
