I guess I'm a glutton for punishment, because I enjoyed the whole hour on Ice Dance. You two are getting your rhythm down in these latest episodes, which is impressive because you aren't getting much sleep!

In the 2nd set of twizzles, Green has two errors, each resulting in a loss of level:
- She turns the last half of the rotation into a pirouette, which results in the loss of 1 level.
- She loses balance on that same twizzle at the end which causes her foot coming down to regain balance, resulting in the loss of 1 level. (Compare it to Parsons, whose free leg is extended out at the end of this set.)
A team could do 8 rotations in a set, and if these errors were to occur at the end of that set, the level drops would still apply. The rules aren't setup to give "forgiveness" to skaters for errors that occur outside of the required rotations for levels, which I agree with. It prevents teams from building in "fail safes" in elements by doing extra rotations.

On fsreddit people mentioned that retrogressions may cause the problems in the step sequences for the dance teams. There was an update back in August of Communication 2704, where the IDTC clarified that difficult turns are not counted anymore for levels if they are executed during a retrogression.

Thanks guys! It was so interesting to hear Tony’s experience as a spectator at this event! And I am so glad I’m not the only one who was unimpressed with Gabrielle Papadakis’s commentary. In fact I found it downright annoying.

NBC better rethink their commentators. I like Terry G, always have but Johnny, Tara, and Gabby have to go! I have been reading some really negative feedback on TwitterX. Johnny went too far.
Really enjoyed the podcast! I subscribed. Amazing how much I appreciated their analysis of stuff. In total agreement about C/B.

Totally agree! I was thinking back to the Junior Grand Prix and how pleasant Ted Barton and Mark Hanretty's commentary sounded in comparison to the above.
Hey Tony and Thomas, just want to say how much I enjoy your show and how quickly you get the episodes onto Spotify. I enjoy listening to you guys on my commute to work.
I appreciated your words about Liv and Luke. Some people have been saying they're no good, or won't last long, well maybe they won't, but I enjoy their skating and their energy quite a bit. And they are young!
I also think the Georgians are a legit threat for the Olympic podium. I remember Luke saying that Nastya won't let him quit unless she gets a gold medal, haha.

I'm grateful that Thomas explained L/B's StaLi1 in the FD, but I'm still a little bit confused. I believe they are going for the change of pose feature, and the second pose is the lower one after he dropped and caught her again? Why is this pose considered not established? I went back to watch Cup of China where they got a Level 4 for this lift. It seems that he did drop her a little earlier and catch her a little lower this time, but not too much different from COC? And what is the difficult position for the lifting partner in this lift? Thank you so much in advance!
