Other folks have probably already found this, but I just discovered Jackie Wong is doing an Olympic year podcast with Michelle Ellis (she did the fabulous Ice Dance lore episodes on The Runthrough podcast this summer). They will be doing live weekly shows.

It’s available on YouTube, Apple, all the regular places you get podcasts. Here’s a link to the latest episode.

Thank you for the heads up, @skatfan !

My two nitpicks:

1. No one has qualified for the Team Event yet. Besides needing to see all of the nations that have qualified three skaters/teams for OWG, there are still the rest of JGP and all of GP/GPF in which countries can earn points.

Yes, it is pretty inconceivable that most of the teams at the top of the points standings at the end of 2025 Worlds will drop off: the cut-off for 2022 would have been 1474 if all of the Top 10 points-getters had three qualified skaters/teams, which is France and up according to this Wikipedia page, and 893 (Ukraine in 17th) in actuality.

Nine members had at least three qualified skaters/teams at the end of Boston Worlds. There should be more after Beijing, but the host nations and/or other strong Feds will get the spoils of JPG/GP/GPF and increase their leads. France will be safe, whether or not they're interested, especially given the scoring potential of many of their GP entrants.

2. Why no complaining about two time World Junior medalist Minkyu Seo also missing the age cut-off for seniors this year? He will turn 17 next month. Had he been a senior, he might have had a great shot at the Beijing qualifier and an Olympic spot. Just about Shimada and Nakata :drama:
