Ugh, that's the worst, like when V/M announced they were coming back in 2016 and just about every internationally competitive Canadian dance team outside the top three immediately split or retired.
I thought that too, but then she let it rip at that Nats press conference with "Amber keeps the hoes on their toes" and I started to suspect she may be much more interesting that I had previously assumed.
While the result here will be a disappointment for F/G the overall performance was so much better than what they did at Euros or Olympics, so hopefully this still feels like ending the season on a higher note than they last few months have probably felt.
And remember how scandalized people were by Z/K finishing third there, which qualified them for the GPF and "robbed" LaLa? There were some posters on this board that were outraged at the idea that Z/K were a top six in the world ice dance team.
I'm torn between not wanting to watch F-B/C and the fear that if F-B/C do retire, G/F, G/P, R/A, and all the other teams in their mid 30s will decide to stick around another season to try for that elusive world title.
I love Z/K but it's not exactly comparable to the Shibs who were only 16 & 19 and first-year seniors (Maia wouldn't even be old enough for worlds under the current age rules). This is Z/K's first time at worlds but they are 23 & 24 and this is their fourth senior season.
ETA: Of course Z/K's...
So, business as usual then? :p
What kind of apocalyptic nightmare would the women and pairs shorts have to be to signal a great mens short would be on the way?
Condolences to her and her family. What a blessing that he was able to see her live at Euros in Sheffield. As injured as she has been I doubt she will ever regret the decision to skate this season.
I think one collision between drone and girl up in a lift would be enough to ban it from the arena. Maybe one of the group one pairs would be willing to take one for the team in the free skate.
