I feel horrible because everyone seems to be hoping she will somehow make it to skate, but if she’s got serious concussion I kind of hope she doesn’t. I know that sounds horribly mean after Deanna’s amazing journey and achievements, but if she just gets cleared in time she won’t have practiced...
Is it odd that Shin/Nagy are first alternate for worlds over Chan/Howe? It seems strange to me but maybe someone more clued up on the criteria (Karen?!) can explain it.
I’m probably in the minority here but I think Ilia will have written down that he wants to do both segments. I don’t think he’ll be scared of 4 programmes in a week. I think he’ll want 2 golds.
The only way I think he’ll have not done that is if he’s great friends with whoever he thinks the no...
Yes! There could also be a chance at an Olympic team medal in their future.
I am hoping Shimada and his partner do well next season. It will be very interesting to see how Kihira & her partner do as well as they didn’t have much time this season. I saw a boastful sounding quote that they will...
It was a good show and over the years it featured some great professional skaters (who partnered the celebrities, similar to Dancing With The Stars in the US, but on ice) including several very well known to skating fans. But to be honest, in Britain there is simply no replacing Torvill and Dean! :)
It was popular for a long time in the UK but Torvill and Dean decided to retire. Originally they were coaches on the show but then they switched to being on the judging panel. They also used to perform together but when they decided they weren’t going to skate anymore it was decided to end the show.
Thank you for the tally and notes @Belsornia :40beers:
I saw that Phebe and James said this week that they are planning to compete the 4 weeks in a row which seems extreme but hopefully it will go well for them and at least there is no more continent switching unlike this week 😅
Surely the Shibs must realise now they won’t make the team - they’re probably just staying in for the experience and maybe possible future sponsorships or opportunities?
