It does look like Shin has partially addressed her issues with her wrapped air position and under-rotations. There is more work to be done but this looks like progress to me.

I find it more likely that she'll be showered with enormous scores if she skates well. USFS will be eager to market her as the US answer to the technical prowess of the current Russian juniors. I don't think it's a wise strategy, better to let her develop and enjoy what she is now, as you said...

I think Bradie has made some significant strides this year. In particular I see a difference watching her short program. I'm SO GLAD she de-Scott Brown-ed herself.

This is one of the reasons I'm not sad that Juvenile and Intermediate will no longer go to nationals. Too much focus on winning at the early levels, rather than developing the skills necessary to be successful at the higher levels.

@Sylvia (or anyone else): do you know what’s happened with Cristina Lin? I don’t see her on the Scoretracker or on the entry list for CP regionals. She’s been one of my favorite up and coming skaters.

Cui is competing in the JGP in Linz, Austria this week. You cannot skate in both JGP and GP in the same season.

Me too. I really enjoy her, and her surprise breakout onto the senior scene last year was fun to watch. I wish she'd had a better short at worlds, because she deserves to be considered as much for the Olympic team as Miyahara and Honda, and I fear that with just two spots, she won't be.

Well, that's actually gone really well for US Gymnastics... I wouldn't mind it a bit if the US skaters had anywhere near the results that US gymnasts have had recently.

From the looks of it, Liu/Johnson skated really well.
