    U.S. Ladies [#27]: A Time to Reboot

This is off-topic for this thread, but I for one am SO glad that a minimum TES will weed out the bottom senior dance teams from nationals. It sounds mean, but that level of skating does not belong at a national-level event, and every year there seem to be at least 3-4 teams who aren't near the...

    U.S. Ladies [#27]: A Time to Reboot

It does look like Shin has partially addressed her issues with her wrapped air position and under-rotations. There is more work to be done but this looks like progress to me.

    U.S. Ladies [#24]: Starr-Ting Order/Detailed Classification

I find it more likely that she'll be showered with enormous scores if she skates well. USFS will be eager to market her as the US answer to the technical prowess of the current Russian juniors. I don't think it's a wise strategy, better to let her develop and enjoy what she is now, as you said...

    U.S. Ladies [#24]: Starr-Ting Order/Detailed Classification

I think Bradie has made some significant strides this year. In particular I see a difference watching her short program. I'm SO GLAD she de-Scott Brown-ed herself.

    U.S. Ladies [#24]: Starr-Ting Order/Detailed Classification

This is one of the reasons I'm not sad that Juvenile and Intermediate will no longer go to nationals. Too much focus on winning at the early levels, rather than developing the skills necessary to be successful at the higher levels.

U.S. Ladies [#23]: Triple Axels? What a Novice Idea!

@Sylvia (or anyone else): do you know what’s happened with Cristina Lin? I don’t see her on the Scoretracker or on the entry list for CP regionals. She’s been one of my favorite up and coming skaters.

U.S. Ladies [#23]: Triple Axels? What a Novice Idea!

Cui is competing in the JGP in Linz, Austria this week. You cannot skate in both JGP and GP in the same season.

    Champs Camp August 18-23, 2018

I’m conflicted... I agree that pushing someone into pairs and expecting overnight success is unrealistic, but I don’t think that the developmental levels in pair skating, as they exist in the US, are worth very much in terms of developing high-quality senior level pairs skaters or teams. I wish...

U.S. Ladies [#19]: Do You Know the Way to San Jose?

Honestly I think what hurts her the most is that she rarely skates well. I think this is the best I've ever seen her skate, except maybe a nationals freeskate years ago after she'd already bombed the short. Skating well in both programs is a big step forward. I really enjoyed her here, I hope...

2017 Japan Open, October 7 + Carnival on Ice gala

Me too. I really enjoy her, and her surprise breakout onto the senior scene last year was fun to watch. I wish she'd had a better short at worlds, because she deserves to be considered as much for the Olympic team as Miyahara and Honda, and I fear that with just two spots, she won't be.

U.S. Ladies [#19]: Do You Know the Way to San Jose?

Well, that's actually gone really well for US Gymnastics... I wouldn't mind it a bit if the US skaters had anywhere near the results that US gymnasts have had recently.

    U.S. Pairs 2017 - News & Updates, Part VII

From the looks of it, Liu/Johnson skated really well.

Nguyen is listed for JGP Croatia on the international assignments page: http://www.usfigureskating.org/story?id=84032&menu=TeamUSA

U.S. Ladies [#18]: These Boots Are Made for Skating

My biggest reservation about Le, other than her injury, is that I don't believe she has ever consistently had a complete set of triples. She used to do this spectacular 3Lz-3T and then later have to put in a 2Lz because she only had three triples. Looking at her protocol from this weekend it...

U.S. Ladies [#18]: These Boots Are Made for Skating

There are a lot of skaters listed in the ISP and on the JGP subs list, but I'd give Nguyen and Andrews second spots. They both had some really impressive moments in their programs at their respective JGPs and I think they're thus far the strongest/most promising of the skaters available to be...
