ISU to evaluate feasibility of 2020-21 skating season

If the fall season and the GPs do not happen but the championships season does, the ISU will need to readjust all those minimums. Also, the skaters will not have had a chance to compete under the new rules (the "q"s, pre-rotation and full blade assist, etc) by the time the championships happen...

What competition should FSU re-judge? Any interest?

Another option is the men circa 90 - 92. Some of the Browning vs Petrenko judging are quite fascinating.

What competition should FSU re-judge? Any interest?

http://www.isuresults.com/results/wc2004/SEG008.HTM Here it is. Unfortunately this is the year when they published the scores without tying the judges to the scores and hence there were no ordinals. This is so difficult to look at.

ISU to evaluate feasibility of 2020-21 skating season

As far as sporting goes, is there going to be a real push for skating to resume by the national federations or by the ISU? I totally understand the push for mainstream sports to resume because even without audience they get broadcast rights and their stars / events get sponsors and so on...

What competition should FSU re-judge? Any interest?

Thanks gkelly for your response. I would love to look into situations where the judges DID run out of room, either at the top or in between skaters. Although I believe the rules allow judges to give the same scores to different skaters, either under COP or 6.0.

What competition should FSU re-judge? Any interest?

But please count me out for dance events as I am in especially no technik for this :summer:

What competition should FSU re-judge? Any interest?

Depends on how much you remember / want to remember. Just because someone won a competition doesn't mean s/he won the free skate or won unanimously. Most times, you will have agreed with some and disagreed with other judges. We don't even have the benefit of seeing the practices and the event...

    1996 Canadian nationals - Women’s free skate

Hmm. Looks like it is a good event to rewatch and even rejudge (@alchemy void). Hopefully I can watch this over the weekend. Separately, was there a clear policy that Skate Canada had to send the national champion to Worlds? I wish they had just let the judges do their work and judge the...

Missing ladies at the Olympics since 1984

Or ordinal flip flops. :P Skate order is still kind influential to PCS and even GOEs, but of course in theory it doesn't have to be.

Missing ladies at the Olympics since 1984

Alas in Nagano the wonky landings went to Kwan.

What competition should FSU re-judge? Any interest?

This is fascinating. I must have missed the exercise coz otherwise I would love to take part. I think the FSU judges were much more on the money with the scores than the actual ISU judges were. I wonder if it was the momentum from the team event or the home crowd that got Lipnitskaya that extra...

What competition should FSU re-judge? Any interest?

2005 Worlds would be fun to judge in the ladies. It's the first COP Worlds and Kwan had a fall and was a hot mess COP wise, but delivered an otherwise consistent package over Slutskaya, Cohen and Kostner who were more prepared COP-wise but were shaky/ sloppy all over the place.

Missing ladies at the Olympics since 1984

Well the 2 3loops WERE already enough at Nationals, right before the Olympics. Kwan won the free skate there by a landslide.

Sport24: Aleksandra Trusova leaving Tutberidze for Plushenko

Thanks. This translation mentioned skating skills, much to my relief. Let's see what kind of choreography and style she will show next season. Look at how Mishin strips Tuktamysheva's programs of their choreography - I am hoping Plushenko wouldn't do the same just to ensure she would land her jumps.
