The tipping dilemma in the US?

It was a long time ago. Glad to hear it’s changed for the better.

The tipping dilemma in the US?

In Canada, I’m conflicted. I tip 20%+ at restaurants for good service. I tip the hairdresser, more for my kids’ haircuts than my own, because kids 🤷‍♀️ I always tip gig workers like food delivery workers insanely well. They’re often immigrants, work really hard, and I feel like the system...

As the Page Turns (the Book Thread)

I had a high school english teacher that said I should read it. I never did. If I find it at the thrift store, I'll attempt it

    Let's Talk Movies #36 - 2020 - Yep it is a new decade

Went to see Minecraft today with the kids. It’s really fun. I laughed out loud a few times. I wouldn’t go see it if I didn’t have kids, but it was enjoyable :) We went with some of little mic’s friends and their siblings and holy cow the previews were A LOT for a lighthearted family movie...

    Let's Talk Movies #36 - 2020 - Yep it is a new decade

Minecraft is MASSIVELY popular. My kids are obsessed, my 20something coworker is a fan, it really has as universal appeal as anything. And I’m sure Jack Black and Jason Momoa are making the marketing people really happy with their bromance

Skate Canada 2025-26 "domestic" calendar includes Skate Canada International

Mr. mic asked me why I haven't gone to a competition in awhile. Uh, money, which lately has gone to house stuff and family travel? Kids? Life in general? He asked if there were any competitions close this year. I said Saskatoon. He said that seemed doable  I expect an upcoming...

Cirque du Soleil's 'Crystal' is touring again

We’re taking the kids in a couple of weeks. Little mic actually went when he was 8ish months old last time it toured. I expect he’ll get a bit more out of it this time around ;)

Anne Schelter (found of Annie's Edges) passed away

I adored Annie’s Edges as a skater. My proudest moment as a coach was at a seminar with Anne when two of my skaters that I’d coached for a long time, and worked really hard with, were singled out for being the only ones doing the exercises properly. She asked who taught them how to skate like...

The Sonic movies are lots of fun. I think 2 is the best, but they’re all pretty great. It’s fun to watch Jim Carrey play :)

We started Wicked tonight. I kind of forgot that it was super long, so starting it after a very late night probably wasn’t ideal for the kids. Even mr. mic is thoroughly enjoying it. The kids are completely engrossed. Baby mic said that “Glinda should just be a singer, she’s really good at that...

The sonic movies are great. Definitely ones we put on for the kids and found ourselves just as into, if not more
