As for Chen while he has potential to be dominant, I think he more likely is to be someone who wins sometimes (he has a good shot of winning a couple world titles in his career) but isnt dominant, since what he is trying is so high risk, he will continue to have a hard time being consistent. He...
The problem with Stepanova & Bukin is she is not a strong enough skater IMO. He is one of the best (although even he has a hard time living up to the amazing Cizeron), but she would need to vastly improve for them to be a challenger for gold. They have the look and the unique style...
I could be wrong but I think Russia has all but given up on dance for the moment. I expect it to continue to be their weakest discipline in the new quad. They have some promising men, and even Kolyada still has a lot of untapped potential to be a threat if he sorts out his mental game, and...
I guess we will see. I dont even expect Zagitova to continue so I dont see her losing to Zagitova as Zag. probably wont be there. Yes Medvedeva would be hard to beat due to her consistency, but who knows if her Oly loss will affect her confidence.
I know she isnt popular on this site but I...
Regarding Lucinda Ruh's comments I dont think what she was basically saying was wrong, but she chose a horrible way to say it if that makes sense. If she felt Osmond should have won, she should have said she deserved to win for her bigger jumps and the maturity of her skating, some which comes...
I think Tennell can improve her artistry somewhat but I never see her being a world beater. She is just a consistent skater, and even that who knows once she has some pressure on her as we saw at the Olympics. Jumps are usually steady and good, but not great, and the Russians and many others...
I honestly think part of the reason we havent seen much of her (far from the only one but one of numerous) is she knew the next Olympics would be in South Korea and for obvious reasons she would want to have gone to an Olympics in South Korea anyway. Now with that behind us, with the most...
Just one thing, I LOVED Zagitova's cat exhibition. It is by far my favorite program of hers thus far. Kind of dissapointed to read so many of you hated it. I guess that does bring up one important point, how much of "artistry" (and many thinking Zagitova's PCS were far too inflated and she...
I agree Osmond has less difficult choreography, but I think Zagitova imparticular almost has too many transitions and it makes things look a bit sloppy. Medvedeva has a nice medium between the two. It is an interesting contrast and dilemna from the judges.
I think Osmond absolutely has the potential to challenge the Russians, even Medvedeva and/or Zagitova if they stay (I fully expect Med. to stay to the next Olympics), or any of the others. She just has to get more consistent, and plan her strategy particularly in the LP better. As she shows...
Call me crazy but I think there is an outside shot of Savchenko & Massot competing to the next Olympics (just based on Alina's recent interviews and comments) and a quite good shot they compete until the 2020 worlds. While I dont think they are realistically going to dominate the entire quad...
I think the odds of another V&M return are something extremely close to 0%. I wasnt even that surprised they came back this quad, post Sochi I would have given V&M and D&W both about 35-40% odds of returning at some point (which I guess makes roughly 60% 1 of the 2 would as happened). Not...
1. Limit the number of quads in the mens programs to 4. Guys like Chen and Boyang can still can an edge as they can do a quad lutz and quad flip (Nathan) which others cant.
2. Harsher penalties and more points lost for falls, especialy on quads. I do not think this will discourage people...
I am sorry but why on earth are you blaming Julia's fall on Eteri. I love Julia, but reality is Julia grew, had injuries, never had the best jump technique to fall back on to begin with, and lost her jumps. And yes Evgenia replaced Julia as Eteri's #1, well gee what kind of coach would ever...
While that isnt a bad prediction, I have this odd feeling the Russians wont dominate this quad like the last one. They might well still win the most and have someone win the next OGM but I think some non Russian(s) will win at worlds too. Zagitova will probably retire as has already been...
