    Alysa Liu retires

I admit to being shocked—I thought she’d be around until 2026 at least. But if she’s happy and feels she’s accomplished everything she wanted to then good luck to her in whatever she does next. She’ll be missed!

2020 OG Gymnastics Thread: The Takedown In Tokyo

Will Peacock be showing WAG events that are commentary-free? Quite honestly, I want to watch the broadcast, but the constant yammering from the commentators and the never-ending hand-wringing about everything stresses me out. I'd just like to watch the gymnastics and leave the hysterics out of...

Don't jump too far ahead. In 2012 we all knew Jordyn Wieber was going go be in the AA with Gabby Douglas and then she wasn't.

I want to give all these girls a hug, but especially Simone. She’s got Mount Everest on her shoulders and I wish she wasn’t quite so tough on herself. But then, she might not be the champion she is if she wasn’t. Either way, hugs to her.

Announcers mentioned Simone wasn’t happy with her first event. What happened?

Gymnastic news #22 - Tokyo or bust

I've lost track of the number of times I've said DAMN tonight watching Simone. Also: Laurie Hernandez is really good on camera and if she decides to not try for 2024, she really should pull a Tanith White and do commentary.

Right now, more than anything, I want to ban the hairdo where it looks like they're going to a yoga class and woke up late so they just pull their hair into a messy bun on top of their heads. At least make us believe you ran a brush through your hair before showing up to compete.

If Shilese Jones could put it all together, I think she would be amazing. Just the little we saw of her was impressive, even with the mistakes. I love Laurie Hernandez, but I just don’t think she’s got a snowball’s chance of going anywhere. Maybe she’ll prove me wrong. MyKayla Skinner’s...
