LOL - I can't even remember why I put this in my multi-quote! Oh - it was the Rungarians. Well, their brunette coach sobbing after their totally clean skate melted my cynical heart. That was an Olympic moment.

They weren't pissed, stop projecting :) Amazing sportsmanship on Hase / Volodin's part towards the Japanese and the Georgians. Seemed really heartfelt.

She put her foot down early on their combination element, rather awkwardly. I wonder if she jarred her back and that contributed to the pop. :(

It matters because A) rules matter, and B) you never know what it did to H/V to hear that score when it should have been ~2.5 points lower. Even with their SP lead, they would have had to skate ~2 points above their personal best. Had it been ~2.5 lower, they would have simply needed their personal best.

Should it have mattered to them? No, but if it did you have poor calling impacting subsequent competitors performance.

And yes, ITA about the positive GOE for the Georgians on those lifts.

He was a jerkface to Karina Safina in Beijing but he seems to have a fun loving relationship with his competitors here. And Nastya is SUCH a pair girlie. I wish she could get a more solid partner but I assume they're in it for the long haul.
 
I don't like MetBeru so :blah: about their silver over MiNiki. Happy for Riku and Ryuichi though. His emotions awwww

Luka Berulava was super ****ing rude to me and some other volunteers when we were at the athletes' lounge helping out there at 2025 Worlds when I was volunteering. So I just do not like him at all :rofl:

Posted this after M/K skated, but exactly what I thought would happen, happened. The power of skating to win, instead of skating to not lose!

I love this podium, even the Georgians in silver, despite what many are muttering. Forget him, METELKINA deserves that silver medal for smiling through all those skary lifts. PAIRS GIRLS ARE BUILT DIFFERENT!

Love H/V, but I want them to stay in, get even better and more polished, and win everything.
