2026 Olys Pairs FS PBP - Are We Not Entertained?

Have the Brits intentionally done a throw double loop all season????? Seriously??
 
GORGEOUS 3toes from the Brits! And then a mess on the double axels :(. I suspect they'll get +SEQ with no credit for the axels. Who was saying yesterday that their toes have become better than their axels? And now a throw double loop :(. Whoa, and really trippy in the pairs spin. Back for the throw 3S but still a very tentative program that will drop two placements. Tech even below the Kovalevs, and I think before the +SEQ penalty hits :(.

A bit rough in the middle but they also had some really nice elements as well.

SP: 66.07 = 13th Place
FS: 112.99 = 4th Place
Total: 179.06 = 3rd Place
 
VLDigs - 3tw - nice enough; SBS 3t - excellent; SBS 2a+1a+1a - both had issues with the landing of the 2a - hands down; throw 3lo - popped it into a double; her dress is really pretty; first lift - decent, though the exit was a bit labored; combo spin - practically a dead-ass stop when they changed positions; God, these music choices are so horrible; FIDS - fine; choreo seq - eh; throw 3s - quite good; second lift - slow but fine; last lift - best of the program.

That may drop them behind Les Kovs, which would be quite a feat.
 
Was about to type that SBS jumps are a problem for everyone today and then realised that when are they not? :lol:

Dodgy first throw from Vaipan-Law and Digby but the second was a cracker (I may have listened to too much Chris commentary....). They have improved their presentation so much the last couple of years. Not the fastest, but they've chosen music to accommodate that. Oh, I'd forgotten Mark Hanretty choreographed this! Great job and they look happy.
 
Popping in from the arena for the Pairs SP to say hi!!

While it wasn’t a perfect skate, just so happy for Deanna & Max to have their Olympic moment with many nice highlights and a safe skate!! Glad to see them happy at the end!!

Also, ran into Ashley Cain at the arena tonight as I had seen her in Jason Brown’s IG stories earlier. She is beyond lovely and chatted with us for 10 mins while her phone was charging at the Samsung charging station!!
 
They showed the sbs 2a in the replay and I don't think either of them put their free foot down, so maybe they will escape the +SEQ penalty?
 
Lots of problems for the Brits today but some nice moments too. Great throw landing near the end and the reverse-direction lift was pretty cool. I would say Ana's dress is gorgeous IF it ddn't have that side cutout.
 
Brits haven't evolved like I hoped they would a few seasons back. Even the whole pairs spin was a bit off balance today. Still, this was one of their best efforts this season, so great for them.
