2026 Olys Mens FS PBP - Habemus Pop-am

Is this the first time a reigning American Men's World Champ has not won the OGM?
The curse of the current European champion (Egadze) and the current World Champion (Malinin) continues.

But Ilia is already a gold medalist, so nice of him to share the wealth.

I am proud of Ilia for handing it so well, Beijing comment aside,. SOMEONE GET JOYCE OFF OF HIM.

Very classy from Ilia in the post-competition interview with Andrea Joyce.
I'll have to watch a bit later. I'm going to stay with Gem as I think they will show the medals.
Although I'm not Ilia's biggest fan, I am so sorry for all the American fans (and his other fans world-wide). He really is an absolutely brilliant technician and my heart breaks for him right now. He must be devastated. I'm just in shock.

Holy shit. What just happened? I'm sweating and can't stop laughing. (it's a stress response, I feel so bad for Ilia), but what the ffffffff??? Completely thrilled for Shaidorov.

Yet another unbelievably bad post.

Your on a roll
Please. I'm hardly the only person who thought the USFS was wrong to not send him 4 years ago. There was zero benefit, which hindsight has proven so completely & fully, for the USFS to have chosen Jason over Ilia 4 years ago. Ilia soundly beat Jason (and Vincent) at Nationals in 2022 and look where we are today. Jason wasn't used for the Team Event in Beijing, didn't even make it to Milano, and look what happened tonight to Ilia. So, what was the point of sending Jason to Beijing? Where was the benefit? There was none in the end.

Shaidorov's many reactions are going to stay with me
Sad for Kagiyama, I so wanted to see that free skate sing tonight. And for Malinin. I had a feeling that he was not going to win tonight, BUT NOT LIKE THIS. No way.
Happy for Shun Sato ending up on the podium.

What a strange wtf competition.
