Watching slopestyle I wonder if this is how non-figure skating fans feel - the different names of things that all look the same too me.

I guess carrying your flag on your final run in slopstyle is the equivalent of a victory lap.

I felt sorry for Gu from China on the women's free style. She fell on her backflip and ended up with silver instead of gold again. She's the Michelle Kwan of women's free style skiing. But, she just shrugged it off. Congrats to Switzerland for the gold. And she's drop dead gorgeous and can be added to the Olympic hottie list.

See I think skating should use similar terminology for jumps that the other aerial sports use.

It's not so much the rotations that I'm confused by as what the difference between a Kevin Federline, and a Brittany Spears is.

Well, they're both crazy insane moves. But, yeah most non-figure skating fans don't have a clue between one jump and another. And, some of us who consider themselves fans don't either.

We saw the mapping of the course and were Wow.
I love the Olympics - you get to see so many different sports

Hope nobody in the arena watching speed skating doesn't have a seizure disorder with the flashing lights.

Somebody who knows more than me, the commentators were talking about how the humidity in the speed skating rink was being maintained and the inside temps. Apparently, the ice is perfect because lots of new Olympic records are being set. I've read that some of the figure skaters didn't like the ice conditions so I'm assuming the environments are very different. Short track is always exciting, but the long track events have been as well. The Dutch women are so fast in the 1000m, but they might not want to wear so much eyeliner since it smears across their face when they win.
