Page 18 of the program lists officials and production people.
Of note to me is that Kevin Reynolds is a Technical Specialist this time. It appears from the commentator list on the same page, (quoted below) that Mark Hanretty will be Ted's partner for the Men's events.

I'm glad to see that Kevin's technical expertise will be contributing to the results, especially in such a critical competition year, but sad to lose his knowledgeable commentary. Kudos to Skate Canada for bringing in such a quality replacement in Mark. I wonder if there were any Canadian men considered as a replacement. Off the top of my head I can't think of any men's commentating stars out there who might have been available, but then until I heard Kevin's commentary, I never would have suspected what a good job he would do.

I got here for the last few minutes of Senior Pairs practice.

Kemp/Elizarov marked most of the elements in their run though, but looked relaxed and confident.

Laurin/Ethier had a good run through of their LP; he just missed the sbs 2a.

I missed the run throughs of Pereira/Michaud and SD/D. P/M seemed to be struggling with their throw landings, and Max was having a rough time while working on his 3s on his own.

Deanna and Max did their backflip at the very end of the session, right in front of the group of school kids, and they loved it.
 
Alec Guinzbourg's clean run through was the surprising highlight of the first group of men, given that he has not skated well the last couple of seasons (and had been having a somewhat messy practice up until that point).

John Kim was hot and cold, much the same as he is in competition. I'm hoping he can get it together.

I like David Shteyngart a lot, and would love to see him try pairs.

Grayson Long was the standout in group 2, with a clean run through and lots of other clean jumps landed. He did struggle with a few 4s attempts towards the end of the session; I could see Orser filming him on his phone and showing him the replays.

Matthew Newnham landed a really beautiful 3a early in the session but then missed it during his run through.

Keegan looked ok, but not amazing, with several awkward mis-fires on 3a attempts.
 
Interesting to see some different approaches to practice in group 3. Most of the guys performed their choreography while leaving out some or all of the jumps; Gogolev did his jumps while leaving out most of the choreo.

Roman did his 4s and 3lz3t in his run through but left out the 3a even though (or maybe because?) it's what he struggles with the most. He did land a nice one at another point during the session though.
 
In coach voids, Tracy Wainman has a blinged out handbag that would make KMT green with envy.

There are no concessions open, but Benoit has a takeout package from Tim Hortons. He has alas not offered to share with me, despite being only a few meters away.
 
Schizas skated her Lion King SP in practice this morning, which makes me wonder what on earth she's planning to do for the Olympics. Is she going to get another brand new program between now and February?? Her run through was very rough, with mistakes on all 3 jumping passes.

Dupuis did a run through of her LP, and landed her 3a. It looked really good, very confident. She popped a couple of jumps after that though, so her next task will have to be integrating the jump into her program and not letting it take her focus away from everything else she needs to do.

Daleman looked really good during her "just skating around" time, landing some really big and powerful jumps, but she let them get a bit wild during her run through, landing forward on her toepick every time.

PJ Kwong interviewed the women after the practice (for Skate Ontario) and she told me they were "hungry".

I think at this point she must be focusing on actually earning the spot for Olympics. She’s got a lot of pressure this week. I assume she will figure out new (or old) music once that spot is guaranteed. This morning Gabby and Sarah Maude also looked good.

We went to the practice rink to watch the men’s yesterday and today. Keegan was looking happier and more consistent yesterday than today, but he was yawning today so may have slept late. Gogolev & Sadovsky both are looking pretty good. It’s anyone’s guess what will happen but my heart still roots for Keegan.
 
This morning I got to meet the little dog that was mistaken for a stuffie earlier in the week. He is very much alive and is a service dog. Like the puppy room at US nationals, he helps to calm down the skaters, especially the young ones.

He made another appearance in the Kiss 'n Cry with the first skater in the Women SP.

There's going to be a live stream of the Olympic team announcement at 7:00 pm eastern tonight. Ted Barton said at the end of the stream that the 4CC and jr world team would be announced in the coming days (or something like that). I doubt any of the Olympic team will go to 4CC but based on some of the comments made during the live streams who can be sure. I wonder if the ISU entries will be updated before Skate Canada announces it. Stay tuned!
